It is very boring work, but i could not give up in the request of Kpt. Lehmann ...

This mod is for SH3 ver. 1.4b game with GWX 3.0 mod.
In this mod i have made all flags and animations as in SH4 ...
Speed of flags animations in flagS.dat is higher (~20 FPS) then in stock game...

Installation:
Using JSGME ...
Unpack SH4StyleFlags_GWX.7z file in MOD folder.
To attach to game as last or not last mod ...
This mod can be used in stock game and with any other mods...
This mod is not compatible with other special flags mods ...

Special gratitude to respected Skwasjer.
His S3D tool successfully expand (supplement) HexEditor.
S3D accelerates editing of files content ... especially object-animation, mesh animations
and StateMachine System files ...
The visual control through S3D Viewer allows to place objects quickly ... and so on ...

Note:
You can remove unnecessary flags through S3D...

In this addition i have made animation speed for flagS.dat as stock (12.5 FPS)...
(in main mod speed of flags animations in flagS.dat is 20 FPS)...

Very nice. Is it possible to make flag to flutter depending on wind speed ? I mean flutter gently when it is calm day and fast in a stormy day ?
Unfortunately to make it for AI ships (subs) ... it's impossible...
For Human subs at good level ... it's impossible too ...

Animated mesh in SH3 must have type 2 ... 2 ... 2 ... and only 2 ...
...

and you should make flag material bilaterial (2-sided) ...
and you should remove SinchroMesh controller (not use in SH3) ...

I haven't noticed much difference in size of the flags (with additional version and without) but faster flag flutter is of course closer to golden middle for all kind of wind speed as far as flag flutter can not be adjusted to flutter accordingly to wind speed. Job well done indeed.Appreciated.
In stock game (and in this mod) the flag-size in flagS.dat is less than flag-size in flag.dat on ~25 % ...
The length of flags in the mod (in both cases) is little bit more than length of flags in stock game ...
And next ...
You can change speed of animation yourself... For this purpose using S3D (author Skwasjer), export 3D model of any flag with animation into any empty folder ... and then import sequence of obj-files (simply load first file with number * _000.obj) back into flag(s).dat using new parametres of animation (for example, 20 FpS instead of 12 FpS)...

How you think, it's necessary to make the same in flag.dat (~16 FpS) or no ? :o

Thanks for this mod Anvart and the hard work you have put into it. Presumably rather than install the main mod then the fast flags additional mod of your choice, you can merge the two before installation so that you have only the one mod that needs to be installed using JSGME?

What hard work...?
I have made this work for 34 minutes... Using S3D, 3D Studio Max (batch import/export) and ... HexEditor (a little) ... :haha:

This is the problem with intellectual properties:damn:; it took you a little over one-half an hour to make this, so it is "easy." You ignore the hours and hours it took you to master the tools, without which this mod is impossible.:know:

If I understood the message correctly, Irish1958 wanted to say that it was not as easy as you say because you have needed also the effort of learnig to use the tools (hexeditor, Silent Editor) many hours. He wants to remark that your effort and knowledge is indeed very high and hard to achive, and only because of that you did find it easy. But it would not be easy for any of us :yep:

wouldn't it be possible to have a state machine declare
the windspeed and then call a different animation set?
In StateMachine System there is no parametre "windspeed" ...

@irish....you've done/said nothing wrong, this is a classic example of language barrier misunderstandings.

@Anvart....irish 1958 was expressing his gratitude and amazement of your modding skills and talent. He used the term "intelectual property" in a supportive way towards yourself.

His last sentence "Again, thank you for your HARD WORK" must surely support his tone.

I would ask you to take his statement in the true context it was meant.....a positive one and certainly anything but that of negativity.

It is often difficult to convey the precise tone when using the written word because the nuance of language is often lost in the translation.

I'm hoping you'll take my word on this matter my friend and also the explanation offered by Hitman.
