First thing first - I recently downloaded a mod which did not have a read-me file... and for the life of me I cannot find the link or post where I downloaded it from. The mod was for the captain's office (ATO) and included 3 files: CaptainRoom_Background; CaptainRoom_picture; CaptainRoom_wall -- it included the map below as part of the CaptainRoom_wall.dds and also modified the office window view to sub pens... was this your mod?

Please accept my apologies if this offends you... but no map in an office of mine would ever be that clean - so I added some debris to avoid any "clean office" anxiety. My feeble attempt is below:

If the original modder would contact me I would be happy to contribute this option to his mod... and of course if any of my fellow swabbies who could never keep an office clean would like it just PM me.

Still waiting to hear back about getting the mod posted to SubSim... so I made a few more changes. The calendar has now been changed to display German months instead of English - and the ceiling fan blades have been modified to match the wooden blinds... the bindings seemed a bit tropical.

If you could remove the fan AND the blinds! That'd be really, really neat :)

If I remember correctly, the fan and the blinds are 3d objects that are part of the room model so removing them would involving re-modeling the office, literally and figuratively.:)

Since I know nothing about 3d modeling that's out of the question, maybe Akula or someone else knows more.

The map is a copy of a real Kriegsmarine map. That is the version that came as a paper foldout with Aces Of The Deep.

to me the ceiling fan is just out of place for the time, if they had a fan it should be belt driven as any other type was very expensive back then.

but then maybe the belt is supposed to be in the attic, anyway if you keep the fan it should look discolored and worn and not brand new IMO.

We already released the mod Webster... but old n' weathered might have been a better idea. Maybe in an update down the road... thanks for the suggestion.

I have a CaptainRoom.dat file which removes the ceiling fan completely. It's been made by DarkFish, who sent it to me earlier this year.

If interested, I upload it later.

Wow... that would be awesome! Please do!
I will ask Darkfish if it can be included as an option in the ATO office mod.
