View Full Version : Waterstream+Exhaust Combi V2.3 for GWX3 Problem
i'm running gwx 3.0 gold and am trying Waterstream+Exhaust Combi V2.3 for GWX3 but i've installed it with jsgme and both are not showing up in the game. any advice?
Most probably there is a folder too much in the one you placed in the JSGME "Mods" folder before enabling. Check that you have inside that "Mods" folder one with the Waterstream+Exhaust Comb, and inside that one should be already another with the name "data". If there isn't, then go further into the subfolders you find and ensure "data" and all that are besides it are placed directly in the first one under "mods" :hmmm:

Dargn, you are right! I just tried to install it and it doesn't work at all :damn:
Unfortunately I can't help any more, let us wait and see if someone comes up with a diagnose :hmmm:
what mods do you have installed AFTER the waterstream&exhaust-combi?
have you set particle density to 100% in game options menu?
waterstream effects are only visible in high waves.
exhaust is only visible when submarine on high speed
Just have installed this mod last week it works fine for me with GWX3, unless you trying to use optional files for for type II, which don't work for me either. But probably the problem is with mods you have installed after combimod as they may contain u-boot files without smoke and waterstream.
just remember that optional Type II files should be enabled after main W&E Combi, ignore the conflicts with main W&E Combi when enabling optional Type II

EDIT: I just reviewed W&E Combi structure (poor memory ;) and Optional Single Exhaust for TypeII will definetely NOT work without main W&E Combiv2.3 mod

I just tried it again without any other mod installed, and it certainly worked. But it puzzles me that no mods I had before made changes to sensible files :hmmm:
I will enable them one by one and see when the error happens. I think I have an idea of where it might lie: In the empty campaign files that allow quicker loading times. Probably since no other ships are loaded, some of the effects that the U-Boat shares with one of them also doesn't get loaded, and thus it will not show :88)
that's right. I got CTD in conjunction with BlankCampaign-Mod and Type VII.
And I've no idea for the reason......what has a campaign file to do with particles????
As already indicated, I suspect that SH3 will not load into the memory f.e. the smoke just because the U-Boat is linked to it. It will be loaded when normal ships are in the mission or campaign file, and then the U-Boat can share it. :hmmm:
all i have is gwx files installed. particles set to 100%. it keeps not showing up, even in the north sea mission

Being old and lazy, I've never used the Combimod version. I still use Rubini's original Water Streams v4 (I think), and Philipp Thomsen's RB's Exhaust Smoke for Water Streams. No problems at all.
I just checked it and it works for me just like always...
I still suspect that you are not installing it correctly.
If you are using WinXP and installed SH3 into default folder than please do the following after enabling W&E Combi mod, go to:
C:\Programm Files\Ubisoft\SilentHunterIII\data\Library
and check if you have there WaterStream_material.dat
If there's no such file than your W&E Combi is not installed properly.
