BTW, I was already using the RE on top with RFB+RDRD+OM. I guess now I can delete my RE and still see OMEGU when playing the american campaign? Nvm, I'll just go for it....

You need to re-read this statement in the Install Instructions in the first post
OMEGU should "ONLY" be installed on a “stock” SH4 v1.5 after OM v705 and OMv705 to V711. You load this up on top of RFB your "GOING" to "break it"

As good as this mod is, I'd have to give up TMO to run it. I'm now so used to TMO that I can't imagine the game without it....so I'll pass on this one. But as always I thank you, Lurker, for your talent and commitment to SH4. :)

BUT........I don't know what went wrong, but whenever a ship burns the flames are very blocky.

Thought it might be a graphics card problem, but game was fine with OM 705, OM 705-711 plus #1 Real Env. mod install.
Any suggestions? Would love to use this mod as I've always used OM right from the start. Thanks Lurker for your exceptional work.

Patch 1 Readme
Due to an oversight on my part, a number of key graphics file were left out of v100. This patch corrects those issues. This is a "mandatory patch" for anyone who as already downloaded OMEGU v100

Ship fires problem seems to be solved. Flames are no longer like blocks.

i' m not sure it's a problem by OM but i think i've found a problem. I've tested OM the last second days and i've got a lot of CTD's. At first i thought it's a problem by "RFB 1.5.2 + OpsMonsun_V705 + OMv705_to_V711 + OMv711_hotfix" but i've reproduced the same problem by "OpsMonsun_V705 + OMv705_to_V711 + OMv711_hotfix" standalone.
Problem description:
After a sinking of a ship (verified by message) you must switch to the hydrophone and select the last position to the ship, then i've got a CTD.
This i've reproduced into a carrier and the german torpedo test mission with sub "Typ 7".
It could be possible that's a bug by Sh4 - 1.5, but i'm not sure.
BUT!
Operation Monsun is a very fantastic mod! Great job.

Have confirmed the CTD issue that was reported and uploaded a new new version of OM ( Om v705 to V712 ) to correct the problem

Not sure if it is a problem. It's a new addition.
You can move it out of the way by pressing the tab beside the periscope up/down selector. This allows you to read the information on the notepad.

This Mod is made for the resolution: 1280 x 960 (I am running that in my game and built that mod for that resolution)
After SH4 start up, go to options, graphic settings and confirm that the resolution is at least 1280 x 960 or better.
I just reproduced your problem about 5 minutes ago, when I "forced" the resolution to 1024x768. I normally run at 1680x1050.

Problem solved by selecting higher resolution.
To tell the truth, in my own opinion, the best this game viewing at 1024x768.

The only thing needed to make an interface mod compatible with any resolution (and aspect ratio) is this part (in red):
Zone= 0 768 1024 768 2 1 0x0 0.5 -0.5 0x1E000000 -0.5 0.5 0 0.
I don't remember exactly what each setting ( 0 1, 1 1, 2 1 etc) did but it's not hard to find out. One of them is for stretching and the other for resolution scaling. FLB only used "0 0" that's why the basic placement and background panel only look good at one resolution.

I've not seen any lifeboats for a while. Anyone else experiencing this? I've only played single missions so far with OMEGU. Maybe its just me:88)

I have one thing that I have noticed, when the "R" key is pressed - depth under the keel - I get told 0. But when icon gets pressed the correct depth is shown.

Not sure about this small problem, since downloading omegu cannot seem to retreive saved games, they appear on the menu but when clicked on to play computer states that silent hunter has encountered a problem and needs to close and this is with games saved since installing omegu. Any ideas anybody.:cry:

U-boats type IIC and IID are downed after OMEGU_v100+OMEGU_v100_Patch1 installed.
They doesn't react to any assigned speed and propeller screw doesn't rotate.
Could someone else test this boats after OMEGU?

Nice work lurker on the new upgrade.
If I wanted to reverse the below, how would I go about doing it.
Addition changes include the removal of the “Ship Type” and “Speed information” from the contact display on the Nav/Attack Maps. Further more “Course information” is now a “numerical” value vice a N/S/E/W value.

i'm having problems with it too.
in game the only listed resolutions for me are:
1024 x 768 (@ various refresh rates)
1280 x 768 ( " " )
1360 x 768 ( " " )
1366 x 768 ( " " )
anything i can do to rectify this so i can get TDC_Dials_Peri&UZO_V1.5 to work properly?
can it be "forced" like in the C/documents/data/cfg/main folder?
just wondering...

It's "custom" eye candy from the author of mod on his personal install.

Hello Lurker,
I am on my first patrol 7th flotilla V11B out of Kiel. I have reached patrol area BE35. Game time Sept 17 1939 03:05. Heavy seas. I am in grid BF115 at this time. Crash Dive heading East or West dive time to submerged about 2 minutes. Traveling North or South dive time to submerged over 10 meters is over 10min sometimes 15 min. Is my install correct? This is a clean install over stock 1.5

nice atmos to this whole thing, it's great to see the ATO become an ever richer environment. some things I noticed about OMEGU though:
-no toggle battlestations shortcut
-no interface for 'range at current speed' (can't find it anywhere, not even in the commands.cfg - I really do need this one, lol)
-no hotkey for the attackplot (really need that one as well)
Is it safe to add those to the commands.cfg or will that mess up some finely balanced things? thanks
oh and when in silent running, all the voices are still american, just thought I'd mention that
the environment is really cool! not that I ever sailed across the Atlantic in real life, but this Opmon V712 / OMEGU setup sure looks great :)

edit: just realised that it's simply stock issues, so ignore that please while I fiddle with the commands.cfg.
all that remains is the feedback about american crew (it seems it appears both in silent running and when the enemy is near)

hmm the keys work but the crew still speak american english at silent running
what happens is I get a whispered 'Jawohl Herr Kaleun' and then in a normal voice 'ahead standard'
also I get kicked off the bridge of a VIIb with winds at a modest 8m/s, slightly problematic because i'm kicked back into the control room every couple of seconds while stalking a convoy. the waves aren't even physically washing over the bridge. (this was yesterday before patch1, perhaps it's included in the patch. currently driving a IXb and there's no problem, even in 14 m/s winds)

I have the same problem as Bosje. Getting kicked off the bridge, but I noticed that this was occuring during heavy seas. A wave would hit the bridge and everyone would disappear from the bridge. It's very dramatic when you use F11 and watch. Then, also, too, in the top corner the submerge symbol shows itself - it flickers on and then off. And after what ever has passed, everyone reappears on the bridge. This is only an observation that I have made. I hope this helps.

The best vocal audio for the ATO is Spaxs SH4 Uboat speech fix... I swear by it! No English, all German... kinda weird because I still have not figured what is German for "passing thermal layer" - LOL

On the next release I'll just copy the entire Stock SH3 Speech Directory into the mod

Unable to recreate , all subs have heavy weather set to 11m/s or greater
well the sound isn't a game killer, just kinda funny to hear some guy yell AHEAD FLANK while evading the Royal Navy ;)

I really like the new tricks of having the boat go to ahead standard for depthchanges, is that historical protocol? did boats not have the ability to go from 30 m to periscope depth on schleichfahrt? it's a little weird to see the 'schnorkel not available' pop up every time but i guess i can just fix that with a ';' in the commands.cfg until i get a schnorkel on the boat

akula: yeah i'm aware of that mod but i don't swear by it. the one thing i am still looking for is something which adds creaks to the UBM setup. I hate taking a deep dive and hearing nothing at all until a sudden complete pressure hull failure and death

torpedo screen, crew screen, 'damage control' screen are there, but the systems screen is not.
i also got a weird graphics glitch when under depthcharge attack, all the crew got black weird looking shadows cast over them as the light flickered, the shadows then stayed. i may have a screwed up install somewhere but i cant imagine how it got screwed. I'll try to get some detailed information with screenies is need be, but all the negative feedback is starting to annoy me, prolly a thousandfold so for you ;)

I can tell you OM makes no changes what so ever that are causing your problems

Hi lurker_hlb3,
All WeO___.ogg-files in the Speech_Folder 1 are not nessecery, because the Weo_speech-files not used in SH4_1.5_game. No Entries in the Phrases_Voice_1 - _ 9 .dat`s and there is no Weapon_Officer in the German U-Boats like in SH3. All Werapon_orders comes from the CE_officer (LI).

You need the re-read the install instructions in the first post of this thread. TMO is not a "valid" mod to be used with OMEGU.

This problem is because of the scene.dat file. These results are currently unacceptable to me and I'm currently working on it. I currently recommend that all users deinstall OMEGU and "remove" the scene.dat file from the mod until such time as I can fix the problem

To answer your question based on some resent test is that you "should" be able to play RSRDC + OM + OMEGU. I'm working no a change in the next version of OMEGU that will allow you to play both US and German sides

I love the smaller clock and the old style tools but I personally think the message box looks a little bit weird there. I'm sure whatever you come up with will be awesome.
Since I see you're tweaking OM and OMEGU here's a few things on my wish list, some of those are available as separate mods but it might be nice to have built in:
1- Historically accurate German flags (Controversial I guess but might be optional install)
2- Darker background for recognition manual
3- Visual detection problems for contacts in some circumstances. (I know this is beyond OM and OMEGU, I'm just saying.)
4- Being used to TMO I really miss some buttons on the menu bar, specifically Open Select Tube, ID Target, Weather Report, Nearest Visual Contact and Max Range at Current speed. These buttons would be awesome to have in OM too.
5- I would love to be able to change skins for all U-Boats to add emblems and stuff but I think you already said they were all in some .dat file and it couldn't be done.
6- Smaller objective icons on the nav map would be nice too.
Anyway these are just some ideas if you need them. (Smaller clock and tools used to be on that list but no more :DL)
Also since I'm on the subject I've made a small mod that I've been messing with in the last week, it changes a few things in the Office, like the map on the wall, the background in the window, the Transfer screen and the scrolling background map when you get your orders. I haven't released it yet but if you like it and want to include it in OM or OMEGU please go right ahead. Link is below.

The "message box in tool bar" has been dropped because of issues with screen resolution that generate unsat results. Other items under evaluation. I'm adding some new items to the tool bar based on recommendations from 'etheberge'

I have the same problem as Bosje. Getting kicked off the bridge, but I noticed that this was occuring during heavy seas. A wave would hit the bridge and everyone would disappear from the bridge. It's very dramatic when you use F11 and watch. Then, also, too, in the top corner the submerge symbol shows itself - it flickers on and then off. And after what ever has passed, everyone reappears on the bridge. This is only an observation that I have made. I hope this helps.
I have this same problem also. It makes the deck gun almost unusable. I don't mind not being able to fire between waves but getting knocked back to the control room every wave is tough to deal with.

uninstall OMEGU_v200
go to OMEGU_v200\Data\Submarine
Remove "all" the .sim files
re-install OMEGU_v200 and it should resolve your problem

Where are you "downloading" from. FYI I just finish re-uploading to FF and then then re-downloaded that it's ok.
Hey Lurker, great graphics upgrade for a great mod. There's one little thing that bugs me though, when using the external camera to view your submarine underwater or sinking ships from underwater, there is tons of seaweed floating around and other gunk in the water. Any chance you might do away with all that seaweed in a future version of OMEGU?
Alternatively, is there another mod I can install to get rid of all that gunk?

I downloaded the latest update last night and spent a few hours playing it.
Now, keep in mind that I just upgraded my system to Win7 RC 1, so I had to reinstall everything from scratch anyway. This made for a very very clean install which probably cured the few issues I had before. :)
This mod is absolutely beautiful. Excellent work!

OK. I play at1280x1024 resolution, 5:4, 60 Hz.
In graphic setup all is enabled, except of windowed mode and vertical sync. Gamma and terrain objects are at half, rest at full.

Unable to recreate your problem. Test was conducted on two different systems

see first post for mirrors, also your the only one of 225 people who have downloaded OMEGU that has reported this problem. I think if others were having this problem I would have heard about it by now

I "can't" fix or support what I "can't" recreate
@Jaxa: If your menu bar works ok before you activate OMEGU, try to remove (move it somewhere else) "Menu" folder from your OMEGU mod and try reactivate it again.

Where can I download v200 version from? I deleted it, but want to change menu folder with the newest version and try this combination.
Try to download updated 210 version, I didn`t try it yet with 210 because I`m on a campaign and don`t wanna mess up my savegames (still using 200).
Tip with removing "Menu" came since I liked TMOv1.7 menu bars (which I have installed before Ops Monsun) so I just left it out of OMEGU mod.

Since I'm unable to recreate your problem, I recommend the following to get "around" the problem
1. unistall OMEGUv210
2. go to Data\Menu\cfg\ in OMEGU
3. remove Orderbar.cfg
4. go to Data\Menu\Gui\Layout\ in OMEGU
5. Remove HudButtons, MenuIcons, MenuIconsBut, and MenuIconsTabs. There are a total of 7 files to be removed. the HudButtons, MenuIconsBut, and MenuIconsTabs have two files each, one dds and one tga.
6. re-install OMEGU

I did note this problem the other night with my dedicated RFB/SH4 install, I remedied that by switching to the desktop via the Windows key and then clicking on the SH4 app in the bottom tool bar. When SH4 came back the FPS were back to normal.

Graphics settings: All sliders at full. All boxes checked except for "Windowed" and "Volumetric fog". Res 1280x1024, 60hz, Radeon X1950 Pro.
This is not the first time I'm experiencing this though. Me and other people had the same problem with an older version of RFB too, and back then the solution to it was found. Something in the mod had to be changed, but for the life of it I can't remember exactly what it was. I'll do some searching and report back.
edit: Ok here's some discussion on the issue when it happened with RFB. Starting from post #583 we discuss a partial solution that solved the problem for me, but iirc something else needed to be done too to solve it for everyone.

FPS getting worse. But only in my Atlantic install. Pac shows no signs, and Med only normal drop every now and then.

The crew seems to have no eyes (pretty scaring being on a boat operated by Zombies ;). The eyepatch for stock does not fix it, but the version for TMO does.

To get rid of these three new commands;
“Crash Dive” – set speed to flank, dive to assign crash depth, lower all periscopes, and lower snorkel.
“Periscope Depth” – dive to assign periscope depth, and set speed to “ahead standard”
“Surface” – return to surface, set speed to “ahead standard”, lower all periscopes, and lower snorkel.
What needs to be changed/edited?
I only want to keep the things in bold (and I reckon that are the only things these commands did before)
2 reasons for this;
1.) I want to be able to "forget" things to do, or want to do it differently for tactical reasons.
2.) The new commands are silencing some of SPAX's sounds.

To answer my own question, should anyone be interested in changing the 3 mentioned commands, do the following;
1.) Disable OMEGU
2.) Backup Command.cfg
3.) Open Comman.cfg and do the following edits;

Haven't tested the last (d) edit since I never played any campaign or mission commanding a snorkel-equipped boat.

suggest we make the OMEGU and SubRon 50 sticky
If not, suggest Lurker adds links in all three (Monsun, Omegu and Sub-50) to the corresponding elements
