View Full Version : Cannot download mods...
When I download a mod to desktop the zip file does not appear . All I get is the JSGME file from the game and the name of the mod under it.:hmmm:

I'm using Firefox, and every time I try to down load any mod (I'm wanting to get RSRD, TMO, and RFB) it opens a new tab, shows a bunch of gibberish, and locks up.

Interestingly enough, it shows me as having made 3 downloads. But no attempt at a download has been successful.

It has to be your settings. The downloads are working fine for me; have you adjusted the settings in your browser?
In case you don't know how, at the top of Firefox go to - TOOLS, OPTIONS, MAIN...on the main page there will be a section called "downloads" in the middle of the pane. In that pane is where you adjust Firefox's handling of downloads.
I have mine set to show the downloads window & I have a special folder in my documents I named "my received files" & put a shortcut on my desktop to that folder & that's where I have Firefox send my downloads. Also; if you don't have it, you need winzip or winrar as all the files I've ever downloaded from here are zipped.

You can also save the file properly by right clicking on the link, and then choosing Save as or Save Linked Content. I have the same problem with Opera wanting to open 7z files as text.

I have Firefox set to open the downloads window, and ask me where I want to save the file. It does not do this when I try to down load here. It opens a new tab, and hangs. And it does not offer me the option to save the file if I right click.

Looks like IE will work, at least I've gotten one mod, and I've got 2 working.

I got all three downloaded. I have not installed anything yet, but at least I have the files.
I have no idea what the problem is with Firefox, but it just won't work for me to download here. It works fine every where else. And it works fine to browse the bards here, too.

When all else fails. Uninstall and reinstall the latest version. Might help.

Actually, I don't have the latest version of Firefox, and don't really want it, either. But then, I'm still running Windows 2000 Pro. :)

That's probably why you're having a problem. I'm using the latest FF & it d/l's fine for me. At least you're getting them through IE, the modders work in this game is so good I'd hate to think of playing without it.

You know, the thing about it is I went to the link where they have the beta for one of the mods, I think it's called "video file" or something like that, and there it downloaded fine, and very fast.
