I'm sure I'm just missing something very basic, but I can't work out how to include a value to a couple of commands using SetKeys 1.3. Set Speed and Set Depth. Both can be assigned a hotkey, but how to you include the value you want the speed or depth to be? Advice would be much appreciated :06:

I think this is an unfinished portion of SH3; the developers planned to have this in the game, but never implemented it.
In short, it can't be done.
(I hope I am wrong, and somebody knows how to do it.)

Hi KeybdFlyer,
There's is a way, but you might not like it!

You would have to alter the the subs cfg file.
Take the IIA.
Open data/Submarine/NSS_Uboat2A/NSS_Uboat2A.cfg
You will see max speed and all the other speeds.

You could alter a speed to your required speed (or you could use a reduntant reverse speed if you wished). Then just press its associated key.

For depth you could change "SnorkelDepth=8;meters" to the depth you wished and then use "Comma key".

Doing commands icons for the mouse is possible without altering the above settings. i.e.
I am working on a command for silent running, based on revolutions and not speed settings. The advantage is that you would be silent on all sub types with the same setting. At the moment setting the slowest speed (2 knots) does not make you silent for all sub types (this includes pressing silent running).

Yeah, I see what you're meaning - and you're 90% correct, I'm not that keen on altering the sub's data files. However, I did find a very round-about way to solve the problem by using AutoHotKey and running a script to move the mouse-pointer to the correct in-game co-ordinates and having it click for me (Click 725,662 in my configuration). It only works for me, or someone with the same GUI and screen res as the co-ordinates would change. Ok, I know it's hardly an elegant solution, but it does the job for the time being. I really must get to learn AutoHotKey, it looks pretty good. I only downloaded it last night and at my time of life (born just after WWII) these new-fangled electrickery thingies are a bit confusticating. However, I shall persevere! Many thanks for the suggestion though, I'll place it in the file marked "Maybe Later When I'm Feeling Braver" :salute:
