So this is probably going to be a either a hit or miss for some people but I thought I'd try it anyway. I call it the Titan Superfortress, it's pretty much a submersible battleship. It has everything a battleship needs as well as a submarine. I made this ship for fun as a single mission ship and have no intent on it being usable in career because it would probably make it too easy.
The ship itself is pretty much done just need to do tweaking with the cannons, torpedo loads, and a few other things. In case anyone is wondering the modeling portion of this ship was done around the same time I had modeled the BlackWolf.

OMG, that would have been a mean sub to deal with. Could you imagine an escorts reaction to seeing...that... surfacing after a torpedo attack. Kiss the convoys good bye.

The hud is a combination of the hud from the Fall of the Rising Sun mod and the original hud with some tweaking in photoshop.

I do have a custom mission that puts this ship up against some of the Super battleships in the game and will put up a vid of it once I have all the kinks worked out. It has the standard 10 that the Balao class has. Six in the front and four in the back, but it will have many more torpedoes stored away in its hull. Still not sure how many I'll put in but it'll be alot. I didn't really feel it needed more than ten tubes

Yes it is, and something of a total surprise to the enemy. I did at one time think of making part of it into an aircraft carrier but that would have been way too much in my opinion.

Now for an update. I have tweaked the handling so it actually feels like a battleship while maneuvering. The downside to that though is it will take a little longer to surface than before even with the hyped up ballast flood speeds. Also when submerging the ship must be going at least 10 knots.
But without further ado I present a new torpedo layout. I think 10 storage in the rear and 20 in the front is good.

Next up;
the YamaIowaDreadPT Superbattleship which launches it's own counter-submarine-submarine. The entire hull is surrounded by a subnet. Top speed is 2 knots and it rolls 360 when firing it's broadside.
Not to be outdone the Air Force will come up with a PBY with turrets and droppable single-man suicide mini-subs.:har::timeout:

I use FOTRS and it runs without tweaking any of the important files.
Also for those who want it I'll set the ship up for campaign mode and release the files in a separate download for the stock game and will more or less need to ask permission from the FOTRS team to do so for their campaign files.

I don't see why not. The only thing you'll have to watch out for is the UpgradePacks.upc file. That is the one that will be replaced.

I've never been a really big fan of the ironclads, and I don't know if I'd be able to handle my own supermod at the moment.

I have a idea for having a Red October modified since the are no nuclear missles it instead would be able to launch torpedos like the old broadsides of the tallships.
Realistically they would have to be angled. I think the Germans looked into direct broad side torps, but found it was not feasible if the ship had any forward movement. The torp might get jammed in the tube on its way out.

I don't know, I never tried to add more torpedo tubes. Ten tubes is more than enough for my subs. I know there is a thread somewhere on this forum that talks about how to add more torpedo tubes. What you could do is just add them until it won't accept anymore. I guess that's the best way to find out.
Like pythos said, realistically they'd have to be angled, but I'm sure the game won't care less if you put them sideways and use them for broadside.

No gun slots :06: Are you using a mod that limits the crew size? Did you remember to tell the crew to fire at will? I've done that before during missions and wondered why the guns won't fire. Nothing else needs to be done after using the mod enabler. Also a screen shot of the error could help in me fixing this problem.
I compressed this right from my own mods folder so everything should be there.

Anyone having trouble getting the guns to work, well it seems I forgot to add the weapons.upc and upgradepacks.upc files to the .rar. Now rather than reuploading the two files I suggest just downloading the Blackwolf and use the files from it, because it uses the same two upc files.
Also for those who are having problems with only getting three crew members. I know what the problem is and I am fixing it. It turns out that some of the mods make changes to the crew and the upc file needs to be updated. So right now I am working on the upc file for RFB. When that is done I'll work on the one for TM.
The reason the current one is in place is because FOTRS does not change how the crew functions from the stock game.

The interior doesn't really need to be re-textured, it's because it's pretty much empty that makes it look so bad. The interior was never really completed because it was really just meant to be a test interior to see how it all worked. I am still open to suggestions for things to add to it to make it more full. It doesn't have to be something already in the game either.
As for the outside I can make a BB skin for it.

Campaign mode will be coming for this sub. I plan on getting files together for the campaign once I finish my shark class sub that way I'll have all three in there for a campaign mode.

It is almost invincible, the only thing that can bring her down are the large ships. I'm not sure about depth charges, the enemy wasn't really around long enough to use them on me. There is a mission Rockin Robbins made called the Convoy from Hell, very fun mission with this sub, only recieved 7% hull damage after I had sunk all the ships.

The sub, no, the sub is compatible with stock, FOTRS, TMO, and RFB. Only the mission is compatible with FOTRS because it uses german ships that can only be found with that super mod.

Yes. The sub only modifies two files and those do not affect the missions at all.

Ok so after testings, and I know it's just a beta, I realized that it can dive but... it's not moving while diving or underwater like... at all! Will you fix this?

Ah, now here in lies the fact that it's the size of a battle ship which means it's slow to accelerate. At 1/3 throttle the ship seems like it doesn't move at all but it will get up to speed in due time. Also, in order to dive the ship must be going 10 knots or above, if not it kind of just sits there with the stern of the ship in air for quite a bit.

She dived 400 feets below on horizontal position still at 0kts. When I ordered to surface, she came back up on horizontal position just like she did when diving. I really can't understand what happened. :hmmm:

Hmm that's interesting, I'm not sure what could be causing the problem. You're using the original download right and not installing the TMO or RFB pack. That could cause a problem. Also make sure that the upc file in the Silent Hunter Wolves of the Pacific\Mods\Titan\data\UPCData\UPCUnitsData folder, the number in the file name should put it at the end of the list. I've had some weird things happen when two ships have the same number in the file.
Oh wow this thing is really something.
But I don't understand why the guns have such a short range. I was getting pelted by destroyers and other ships, and my main guns remained silent. I did not understand why this was the case. Finally the guns let loose, and made the attacker disappear.

I'm patched to the last version available. After all, I did buy SH4 on STEAM. STEAM updates every game you buy automatically so you can say I'm running it on 1.5. The problem comes from somewhere else.

Yes v1.5 is needed to run this boat. Do you also have the U-boat missions pack? I don't see why that would have anything to do with the sub not functioning correctly but sometimes those expansions change things around for all the subs. I'm not sure what else the problem could be because I've driven the sub countless times, dived and surfaced used all torpedoes and such and never had the engines just stop. It's hard to fix a problem like this if I can't replicate it.

Hmm, ok well you shouldn't have engine stopping problems either way because all the U-boat missions pack adds is the German side.
The reason it dives like that is because of the displacement values. You're submerging a 50,000+ ton vessel it's not like submerging a regular submarine. But if you do wish for it to dive as a regular sub just change the values in the .sim file. They're under the Unit Submarine tab and in the obj_Hydro section under Submerged and Surfaced. If you change the displacement to 8000 for surfaced and 9000 for submerged it should produce a quicker dive that's more smooth.
Of course that's also why this sucker has a 96 cm hull because it doesn't dive that quick so when it's being fired upon not a lot of damage to the hull is taken. However I've never really been hit that much when diving the AI usually misses, it's while surfacing they seem to get more hits in.

The next boat idea is going to be based off of a Hotel Class sub. I know sledgehammer said he wanted to make the K19 so I'm gonna make the base model for him and then change it to suit my needs. You'll see the sub hopefully in the next few days.

It works with FOTRS, I know this because I made the ship while running FOTRS. Also has files for TMO and RFB. If you're having problems with the campaign mode check the first post. There is a fix for FOTRS campaign there because some id's were duplicated when I first made it and I didn't realize it.

Are you still developing the Titan? Because a few things came to my mind, mostly the bridge view. If it was open more forward that would be a nice touch. And what with the windows in the command room?

I'm not really doing much else with her. I do have plans to make a gray hull for her so those who want a battle ship hull can have one. The actual command room is supposed to be in the front section that's covered by black glass. However using the interior command room, which is what I had plans to do, would over poly the model and possibly lag the game. She's running over 60k in polys to begin with. So I decided to relocate the camera to the Conning tower.
The interior command room glass was made that way because I was trying to figure out a way to get the interior down to the ship level so you could possibly see out of it. But I soon found out that you can't do that, and because it's a sub interior there are no windows. So I had to color them black.

Use either the Blackwolf or the NSS Shark they both have the file the Titan needs that defines the cannons. For whatever reason I forgot to add that file with the sub when I released it.

Hi,
I'm still having some CTDs while trying to play with the titan in FOTRS.
Installation order with jsgme:
-FOTRS 1.2 with bugfix and carrier upgrade
-Blackwolf
-Titan
-Campaign fix for FOTRS mod
Game was completely reinstalled, v 1.5 of course.
Main menu displays normally, but CTD occurs as soon as I click on campaign.
Any idea?

Hello, from what I have seen on youtube and the screenshots this is awesome! I downloaded the Blackwolf and Titan Rar files but it doesn't show any readme file on how to install it. I have the SH4 Gold edition which comes with the Uboat missions expansion and I'm pretty sure its the latest version. I like the campaigns for both American and German but would LOVE to be able to run another campaign with the Titan as sort of an American Super weapon of war type storyline or something.
I would still like to play my original campaigns at will but playing around with the Titan in a campaign after firing off all 6 bow tubes and having no hits would be fun.

you must download JSGME (http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/showthread.php?t=141773&highlight=jsgme)
the Generic Mod Enabler.
install it into your root folder of Silent Hunter 4.
so your install line would look like this
C:\program files\ubisoft\Silent Hunter Wolves of The Pacific
and lemme look at the file...
okay. Extract Titan.rar right into your MODS folder.
open up JSGME
and install the mod Titan.
start the game and it should be in the submarine selection drop down in single missions.
Give it a whirl, and if you don't like it, just uninstall the mod via JSGME

Thanks soo much for the help, tried out the mod last night, testing out the quick missions right now. Last night was the battle of the philipenes and I just remained on the surface just to see if the Jap fleet could dent the hull armour. A destroyer took out one of my flak guns before i took it out, and later on the jap planes took out one of my small deck guns with their dive bombing attacks and 8% hull damage from a combination of dive bombing and torpedo hits. Also noticed a large hole at the waterline in the bow probably from the thousands of armour piercing and high explosive shells the jap fleet hit me with. All in all my jaw hit the floor the moment it opened fire on the jap destroyer welcoming committee.
I LOVE this mod!!! Any chance to see it playable in campaign soon? I think I heard something about it in the works.

Use either the Blackwolf or the NSS Shark they both have the file the Titan needs that defines the cannons. For whatever reason I forgot to add that file with the sub when I released it.
Where would I find these other files? Are they in that upgradepack file you linked in the first post?
This is not my cup of tea , but i thought i'd mention , great work that's a crazy thing :ping:

Think it says somewhere that you need to have both the Titan and Blackwolf installed, It worked for me, LOVE both boats too. Trust me, watching the Titan fire that first salvo is like total JOYGASM!
Just can't wait to have it as a playable ship in campaign...OOOOOOOO:yep:

Okay my game keeps crashing the whole time, whatever i try i cannot get the Titan to work.
got titan, the blackwolf, the shark and the stock campaign map addon for the titan as the only mods installed but no luck
every time when i select 1 of the modded ships it CTD

1.5 so i can't make it to work with 1.4 version????
Is there any way one could mod the amount of ammo on this beast? Because I find myself running out when engaging the huge convoys, and seeing as realism is already out the window, having shells enough to blast -everyone- to kingdom come would be quite magnificent.
Edit: Nevermind me, it appears it was just the deck gun that is player controlled that runs out.

And when i turn my guns on it takes like 10 seconds and their dead. I know its supposed to be overpowered, but having no damage happen is kind of...weird.

All hitpoints of all sections up to 100,000.
All Guns up to 50,000 anmuntion (Games Maximum).
All Angles of the Deckguns up to 50 degrees. So the fine 16'' turrets open up fire at 15 km (9.3 miles) distance
Human playable deckguns now fire 1 round in one second.
Human playable AA-guns now fire 1000 round in one minute (Gatling Effect). :har:
All sensors now satellite guided and the deck watch got lasered eyes so they have a visibilty of about 40 km (25 miles) for surface targets and airplanes at good wheather for 120 km (74 miles). :D
Torpedorange is increased up to 100 km @ 100 knots and error probability is 0%. :o

ill admit thats pretty kickass, but it still does not solve the damage problem that seems to happen for almost all player created ships i download.

What other mods do you have installed with the sub? I have not had any problems with it so there could be a conflict somewhere.

Hi Silverwolf.
First and foremost, congratulations on a great piece of work. It may be "fantasy", but it's also fun and makes for a bit of light relief from the serious stuff. :yeah:
Anyway I do have a slight problem. I run multiple installations of SH4 1.5. Sadly when I come to install your mod(s) over FOTRS, I get a CTD on selecting "Pacific Campaign" with an error pointing to mscvr71, which I believe is something to do with C++.
I uninstalled your mod(s) to make sure that particular copy of SH4 wasn't corrupt, and it's fine.
The order of installation is as follows:-
1. BlackWolf
2. Titan
3. Your Campaign files (updated ones) for FOTRS.
Any suggestions would be much appreciated from yourself or anyone else.

hello everyone
i'm new to sh4 and this forum , i play the game since a week or so and i find it a nice game , when i've seen this mod on youtube i immediatly downloaded it , just to have some fun with it ( for some reason reminds me star blazers and captain harlock's spaceships , which i loved alot when i was younger ) but i 'm writing this post hopefully to get some quick help with a small problem i have , maybe there is already something like this posted in this thread , i read alot but not every page of it .
i'm running SH4 with 1.4 patch and this mod is the only mod i have installed , when i press the deck gun button the menu shows the "go to deck gun icon grey , when i man the deck gun and order to attack enemy ships from the bridge the game says ok , firing at will , man the deck gun .
i tryed to man the deck gun from deck gun menu and from crew management menu , but it always says the same and the deck gun won't shoot , i tryed to change the crew member and other things but the cannons won't shoot , they just stand still and the game keeps asking me to man the deck gun .
the icon is turned on but seems like nobody is there to shoot , if someone could give me some help i'd really appreciate so i can enjoy the mod 100%

More than likely it is a 1.4 problem but I can't be sure. You need to have the blackwolf installed as well because it has one of the upgrade packs needed for the guns. If that does not fix the problem then it is because I made this sub with the 1.5 patch.

No I mean I ordered the dive while at flank speed. It started to dive ok but like 20 seconds after the dive order, the engines (still at flank) dropped at 0kts. She dived 400 feets below on horizontal position still at 0kts. When I ordered to surface, she came back up on horizontal position just like she did when diving. I really can't understand what happened. :hmmm:
Did this issue ever get resolved? I bought my SH4 via Steam and am having the same problem Royale had. Once the Titan is dived the engines stop completely. Royale had steam just as I do. Anyone found a solution? Doesn't seem to effect Blackwolf however.
So I originally thought that the above issue was restricted to the steam version of SH4. However, I bought the CD version and upgraded to patch 1.4 and am still having the same problem with the Titan propulsion not working when dived. Has anyone else encountered this problem? If so, please share the solution....:doh:

So this is probably going to be a either a hit or miss for some people but I thought I'd try it anyway. I call it the Titan Superfortress, it's pretty much a submersible battleship. It has everything a battleship needs as well as a submarine. I made this ship for fun as a single mission ship and have no intent on it being usable in career because it would probably make it too easy.
The ship itself is pretty much done just need to do tweaking with the cannons, torpedo loads, and a few other things. In case anyone is wondering the modeling portion of this ship was done around the same time I had modeled the BlackWolf.
So here's a vid of it showing most of the guns working and it submerging.

I downloaded the files for blackwolf, and Titan, when i extract them i get a folder for each boat with some subfolders....where do i put the folders for the boats? I remember playing the mods a couple years ago, now i must be brain dead i tried putting the blackwolf, and titan folders in my sh4 folder...nothing...then tried putting them in the data folder...nothing...what do i need to do to play these awesome mods? could someone help me out with step by step instructions for where to download...and installation process i have gotten dumb in my later years!

Hello All. Long time lurker but first time poster here.
At the risk of appearing like a complete idiot, can someone give me a basic "written for 5 year olds" run down on how to install this mod and make it work?
I wouldn't classify myself as an expert, far from it in fact, and I've run plenty of other mods without any problems at all, but for the live of me I have absolutely no idea how to make this work and everything I've tried just crashes to desktop.
I'd dearly like to give it a try as it looks like awesome fun, and any help would be greatly appreciated.

Yea it's pretty damn big. I haven't been able to use it more than just seeing it however, I have some weird bug that makes it so there is no conning tower, the periscopes just bounce up and down on the bridge and are not useable. Which is really odd because the shark and the other sub both work just fine

the titan has a career file, it's the same one for the shark. I never got this to work correctly, for some reason the bridge and periscopes were missing for me. Also, the mediafire shared folder from you showed up empty klaus

I'm having issues with... quite frankly anything by Silverwolf.
All of my Silverwolf subs don't have any external weapons, especially the Titan. My load order in JSGME is:
FOTRS 1.3 (for 1.5)
Blackwolf base
Blackwolf FOTRS
Titan base
Titan FOTRS
NSS Shark base
NSS Shark FOTRS
I also don't have periscopes or command deck on the Titan.
My current version is 1.5.
I don't know what I'm doing wrong and this is annoying me to no end.:help:

you cant load multiple sub mods at the same time thats why it dont work

Anyone have any idea how to get the Titan into campaign mode? I downloaded the campaign files for titan/shark/blackwolf but the game just crashes no mater what order i enable the titan/titan base/campaign files.

I have downloaded the titan before but now with 1.5 it instantly loads normally then after it says please wait it crashes the game. Is there something I am doing wrong?:ping:
