FileFront is removed or closed

Hi Fellows,

it seems that the Filefrontpage is closed. All my uploaded Files on this Site are lost.

My new FileHost ist Mediafire:

Filefront is still there. I just downloaded a printable GWX Rec Manual from a link kindly provided by danlisa.

You could always use Beyond The Shadows, bts-mods.com, for your file-hosting. Unlimited storage space, your files are never deleted unless you want them to be, and your own personal forum section to discuss your work.
Not bad for something that is totally FREE! :D

I use FileFront for the throw-away stuff that I don't care if it gets deleted. I keep my really important mod files at Beyond the Shadows! :yeah:

Gotta agree with all of the above but solely in reference to FF......log in then click on your username in the top right corner and you will be directed to your files.

Please be advised, the layout has been totally revamped (for the worse IMO).

Their site looks totally different. Must have been closed for maintenance what you guys experienced. All my files are still there, they just seem to be jumbled all together in a single place. No neat folder structure that I once had. So mabe that's why some links are dead recently.

p.s. I noticed their url structure also changed.

It used to be:

http://hosted.filefront.com/user_name/

But it's now:

http://www.filefront.com/user/user_name

Maybe Neal can let loose some kind of script on the forum that fixes all those links in one go.

generally speaking.. I have impression that a lot of modders work is lost and not available to community due to filefront disadvantages (lot of failures lately, deleting files etc.)

maybe it should be pointed out more precisely on this forum that uploading to FF is not recommended ?

Yes, they did aswel with some of my files some time ago. But I don't think every failing link is because of that. Alot of websites reorganise their site layout with resulting in broken links. In my opinion Microsoft is still in the lead doing this to old support topics. Filefront is not making friends with me this way, but they should be giving some lee-way in their reorganisation process.
