I have been searching the internet for good quality voices for the submarines. That particular sentence for gun action would be great. I have not been successful in finding something decent. U-571 movie voices are used quite a bit but to be honest, I hate them with a passion. I continue my search for good quality voice-overs.

yes there is a length limit and it needs to be the right format too as the game uses wav and ogg files depending on the sound and where its used.

do you have anything to edit and convert your sound files with?

you did rename the new sound file exact to what the stock game file name is correct? When I started messing with sounds I never seen the file extensions. The sound would not play. When I saw the extensions it looked like wav.wav at the end. So your file extensions are not doubled correct?

Lt commander lare

no extensions i copied the name exaclty as the name said and it still wont play send me your email address and i will send you the sound and see if you can put in the game or do something so i can enable it with jsgme i got around the problem for now using winamp

I can't help you uot right now lare as I am away from my gaming PC, so therefore my SH4 install. I did however just want to say that if you are getting into editing the sound files you may find a program like Goldwave to your liking.

http://www.goldwave.com/

I used it to re-edit most of my German sounds and it was very easy to figure out. I personally found it much more useful them Winamp.

thanks highbury thats what i was using was goldwave for editing but im doing something wrong in the game because the sound wont play when i hit the emergency surface button and with winamp i just assigned a key to play the sound and its working but in the game itself its not

You can also use Audacity:

http://audacity.sourceforge.net/

I find this tool fantastic and it's free. Audacity is so easy, quick and intuitive to use that I started to prefer it over the commercial tools.

Wav files must be in a specific format (frequency/channels), not all wav files are supported by the game. Open a stock file, check the properties, and then make sure to save your wav in the exact same format.

hi skwasjr i did that and everything is correct if you want i can email you the sound file and tell me what i need to do to get this to work right in the game i think this would really increase the game value if this sound file was in it

Lt. Commander Lare,

Here is the file you sent me, check it out, I combined the voice with the original "alarm" (the alarm in the file you sent didn't sound very good, must be an old movie) If you like it, you can post a release thread for it. I set it up to enable with JSGME. It replaces the "submarine_emergencyBlow_INT.wav" file.

I sent it back in an email. Just put it inside the Sound folder of the first sound I did and then copy the whole thing to your MODS folder.

Hey guys here is an FYI if your making sound files i have found the gq battlestations sound file cannot exceed 15 seconds or it will only play once in the game if its 15 seconds it will repeat each time you go to battlestations and the emergency blow cannot exceed 16 seconds hope this helps everyone here, peabody is really good he helped me alot all you guys are such good friends and im glad i have gotten to know all of you here
