Okay, my Harper Goff Nautilus is nearing completion, theres a few problems
First, the sub is a heavily modified balao, with a harper goff naut model.
There is no bow wave. its kinda needed, you know :DL
lastly, the conning tower is nonexistent, I imported the whole Nautilus model, tower and all, so i wouldnt have to put up with it.
im having trouble with the watch crew (they arent there), and I can't get to the bridge (to be decided, there is no interior, but i could have a simple pilothouse view, so one can aim the boat in its 45 knot run toward the enemy ship :D)
but i am having problems getting this to work, after texturing, its done, so please, if anyone can help, PLEASE HELP!

The stuff you say you don't have (watch crew, bridge view which is conning tower camera) is in the conning tower files, that is why you don't have them, since you don't have a conning tower. All the radars and antennas and scopes will be gone too.
You need the info in the Objects folder for a tower. (.dat,.sim,.cam, .zon,.val files) and you also need the info from the UPCData/UPCUnitsData folder for a tower. You can add the necessary parts to the submarines files, if you don't want to "put up with it". I think it would have been easier to make a separate tower, but if you put in the necessary info, it will work.
You will need to put the necessary parts from the towers .dat,.sim,.cam, .zon,.val files into the submarines .dat,.sim,.cam, .zon,.val files, and the necessary info from the UnitParts file into the submarine.upc file.
You can use an existing Interior file for your sub.

thats precisely what i thought i did, peabody, its still giving me problems. i swear, im so close i can taste it. it sucks to have problems this close to finishing it

It is sometimes faster as Peabody once pointed out to me (or was it many times ? ;) ) to redo the whole thing that to try and find small bugs.
I did that with my Jyunsen C2, I had to redo it all cause in the stand alone I used old files that didn't have all of Peabody's changes : gun limits etc...
only took me a good half hour....
for my Sen Toku I I split the tower from the original model and since the texture was for both the tower and the sub I didn't have to redo the texture map in 3ds.. thankfully ! ;)
If you have done the same for your sub : both textures in one file, then it shouldn't be a problem, yu can remove things from a model and keep the uv map, but you can't add items and do the same.
clone a sub using Mykhayl's tutorial to the letter (my own additions are in the next pages from page 1 to get it to work in campaign) :

If you used the Balao files to make it the deck watch are the WCS_01_dummy thru 05 in the .dat linked to Watchmen in the sim and then move them if they are hidden by the tower.
And the bridge is the Dummy_Deck_Watch_NSS_Balao in the .dat linked to the CamuserData in the sim for the "conning deck". That should allow you to go to the bridge.
And the bow wake should be in the dat and val files.

Shammer - seeing as I convert surface ships with no seperate unit parts conning tower, I may be able to help. Do you want to email me the package and I'll take a look ?
