I am REALLY starting to get irritated with this...

I just got a new machine, that meets all of the SH3 requirements, but every time I see a ship, the waterline is real "twitchy". Like, the water jumps around a lot, ONLY around the waterline of ships, and the farther away the ships are, the worst the problem! I tried messing with the AA settings, did nothing, I hope someone else has had this problem, I can't image what is could be!

System Specs:

1.9 ghz cpu
Vista - 32 bit
3gb RAM
nvidia 8200M G - 1.4 gb memory


PLEASE HELP, the 'twitchy" water is really getting ON MY NERVES!

Do a google search for enhancer, download and install, and read threads on Nvidia settings in this forum. It did wonders for my screen views and fps. I am sure others with more espertise on the matter will weigh in on the subject.

Ok I think what you mean its a new machine to you..
1.9Ghz Processor/Cpu should run the game in a Ok way..
Vista-32Bit will be slowing everything down because of the size of your Processor.
You have 3Gb of ram which is fine.
You Have a Nvidia M G ?? a Nvidia mGPU is the mother board with on board graphics. That with the other specs you have given will cause the problems you are getting.
1.4Gb of virtual memory is also good for this to show you must have at least 4Gb of ram and 512Mb of on-board ram memory.
(Vista will tell you only 3Gb of ram because it keeps 1/3 of the ram for V.M)

Investing in a independent graphics card would be the answer..

I'm sorry, I should have explained more, It is a HP laptop, and the GPU is not stock from nvidia, but an nvidia gpu modified for laptops by hp. Sorry, I'm a bit confused because it can render the SH4 Ocean just fine, but all around the waterlines on ships the water "twitches" on sh3.

I have an HP laptop too:
CPU AMD Turion 1.9Ghz
GPU nVidia GeForce 7150 (integrated, 128Mo dedicated)
2Gb RAM
With the difference that I use a dual boot Vista/XP, XP being for gaming (I need the maximum of those 2Gb of RAM).

I can run SH3 + GWX3 Gold + OLC Gold (16km) without too much trouble. I get around 15-25 fps on a calm sea, but admit it can crawl down to 8-12 fps when in port / convoy / storm. It' still pretty playable. And in no way have I encountered what you have. May I ask what your settings are for your GPU (nVidia panel)?
