Anyone ever heard of "mod soup" or bad saves causing an issue with higher Time Compression levels? I have several installs of SH4 (Thanks MultiSH4) - and my install of Webster's GFO mixed with some other sweet mods just does not want to run. Video card goes nutz in no time. However the RFB install works just fine... continuous max TC with no problem. Did I add the mods in the wrong order? Any tips?

I am definitely going to copy my fresh install SH4 folder (unplayed) and start the GFO install over. I know for a fact there are bad saves in the current GFO save folder (CTD on saved game load) which I need to delete. Could those cause it?
Just looking for any wisdom you fine gents might share on this topic...

First thing I would do is move GFO to the bottom of the stack. Then I'd layer the others on top of it and see what you have. If it still acts up, pull the other mods out entirely and add them one by one until your problem crops up. Toss out the last one you loaded and you should be good to go.

Ok, thanks RR... the major mod (GFO, RFB, etc.) always goes in last - got it. No thoughts on a bad save causing trouble tho?

You have it backwards. GFO loaded first. Then the minor mods on top of it.
The only problem I've ever had with a bad save resulted in it not loading at all.

Thanks RR, I think that did the trick. So major mods first it is then.

I just wanted to confirm the GFO and RFB installs are correct. Here is a screenie of the RFB install...

Thanks again for the guidance!

Looks good to me. Be careful of some mods overwriting desirable parts of the supermod. For instance, there's a reason the longer wakes mod is specified for TMO. That tells me it isn't going to work with RFB without overwriting something unrelated to the longer wakes.
The question is what got overwritten and do you care about it? That's up to you to answer. We're responsible for our own mod soup. When we discover something good or bad about our recipe, that's what Subsim is for.

So I take it GFO and RFB are working together now?
