newbie needs help =(

hi all im just new to gwx and i just installed it and have everything done as it should be but if i try start gwx it loads about 80% and then it stops and a warning screen appears that says: there is a new (not implented) page: <Page Ingame Options> ! after i hit the ok button another warning message appears that says : Menu ID not found;0x1a000008!

i've tried a lot of things already and i dont now what to do anymore:cry: so if somebody nows how to solve this problem i would be realy thankfull so thx in the advance :D

edit: im using vista and its the gwx gold version that i downloaded and sry for the bad english

My advice, back off of all the MODs but GWX 3.0. When you installed it, did you enable all the sub-mods that came with GWX? In other words all the cool add-on mods it also brings with? When you get "Menu ID not found" errors, there's a mod or two you have that are not happy working together has been my experience.

Start with a bare bones list of mods, add 'em one at a time. When the Menu ID error occurs, you'll know which one to exclude.

Take baby steps by adding on mods add-in's one at a time, start the game, see what happens. Figure out which one brings the conflict instead of just jumping into the game.

I too, am Vista based. Only way I know how to solve the problem - one baby step at a time.

There is a lot of SMART people here ... be patient ... someone will have the answer smarter than me. :)

No insult to you, but have you tried at least playing SH3 without GWX install?

If Monica's advice doesn't fix it, it could be a corrupt download of GWX ( not uncommon with a download file of GWX 3 size).

thx for answering ive installed firstly sh3 wich i tried running and it worked fine i didn't had any other mods installed ( i have installed patch 1.4 too )but i did enable all the mods that came with gwx in one go so i think that i will try to reinstall sh3 and do it step by step as you suggested hopfully it will work then :DL will keep you informed. ive downloaded the gwx gold from Jimbuna's GWX3 GOLD torrent file (http://files.filefront.com/GWX30+torrenttorrent/;12764641;/fileinfo.html) of the gwx main site

Ensure you have deleted the SH3 folder in C\MyDocs.....uninstall SH3 using the option on the game disc...run a registry clean...then follow the installation instructions very carefull on the GWX website (click on my sig).

MOST IMPORTANTLY...GWX should only be installed on a fresh install of SH3 http://www.psionguild.org/forums/images/smilies/wolfsmilies/pirate.gif

Just wanted to add that you should read the GWX manual, specifically the sections on the mods that were included with GWX for instructions on how & when to enable them.

hi again and thx for all ur help so i just tried reinstalling silent hunter 3 for the 3rd time with result!!!:up: i realy dont now what i did wrong but atleast it works fine now i gues that u realy have to enable the mods one at a time for gwx to load but thx anyways for all the help. see u on the battlefield :ping:
