Hi everyone,

for more pleasure travelling the Kiel Canal, “Ottibald” (from the German Ubi-Forum) made some wonderful models of the “Levensau High Bridge” and of the historical “Rendsburg turnable Road Bridge” (3-D-model and textures by “Ottibald”, implementation into DAT file and animation by “rowi58”).

The first one - “Levensau High Bridge” - is ready for download (see his “MediaFire” site: EDIT you must d/l both files from this site: http://www.mediafire.com/?sharekey=236cd19fb4a7bb4490a82c7bb0fad7ad54861154 0911ebd1c95965eaa7bc68bc - click on "01 Bruecken Mod's"- fist the basic mod "Levensauer_Hochbruecke_Mod.7z" and then the update "Levensauer_HB_Mod_V2.0.7z").

http://img521.imageshack.us/img521/179/levzug3.jpg

On the screen shot, you also see a “Train”, made by “nautilus1942” (Download here: http://www.mediafire.com/?sharekey=10891f51ed54fc6108f8df73f2072ed6e04e75f6 e8ebb871 ).

Still a WIP – but it works: the “Rendsburg turanbale Road Bridge”. Completely animated turnable bridge(parts) and movable barrier/boom gate. The screen shots will give you a little impression of that bridge.

http://img40.imageshack.us/img40/4571/rendsburg3.jpg

A full cycle takes 5 minutes from opening via closing back to opening. Synchronously to the bridge, the barrier will open or close.

These two videos (sorry for the poor quality) will show you how that works.

The “Rendsburg turnable Road Bridge” will be released with the next Update for LSH3 (ETA September 2009) but it will be also available as a “stand-alone-mod”.

Hi Reece,

technical, you can use the bridges with every mod or stock SH3. Of course - you need the Kiel Canal, which is implemented in all "Super Mods".

But the "Levensau High Bridge" will need a modified terrain of the Kiel Canal. "Ottibald" but this modified terrain into his mod - but the installation is a little bit difficult - only for the experienced user.

Both bridges will be in the next version of LSH3 (4.1, ETA September 09) and as far as i know the "Levensauer High Bridge" including modified terrain is embedded in WAC 4.0 too (ETA ???).

Hi mate,

of course, you can use "nautilus1942" equipmet were ever you want. I'll use some of these part in harbour and will make some "external Cargo" out of the german tanks - to use with german ships/convoys.

hello everyone,:D

it makes me proud and happy that the bridges are accepted. i'll adding manuals in
english for both bridge-mods soon as possible. i guess it is'nt difficult to integrate it in your game.
the key to get it right is the kiel_terrain_mod from thfeu58, which is include in both mods.
if you have questions, post in this thread, me and rowi will answer it all, so we can...hehe

How do these mods work with the St. Naz Schlues and other units mods for GWX?

rowi58
05-29-09, 12:18 AM
Hi LiveGoat,

very simple - it's a "stand-alone" MOD which will work with every "super-MOD" or stock-SH3.

All items needed are included. The bridge is a "LandUnit" which must be placed at the "right" place (or any other place where you wnat to see this bridge).

ETA will be September 2009 or earlier.

I just downloaded this, and i am trying to use it following you instructions. however, I am stuck in the part related to the Locations.CFg file since the instructions are only in german. :damn:
As far as I understand I must add the part of the bridge to my own Locations.CFG, correct? but what part belongs specifically to the bridgeand should I add it just copying it into my own Locations.CFG file?
The other part I didn't understand is the repacking process...
So, if you could please explain this a little bit more, i will thank you for the rest of my life.
Thanks a lot for your cooperation and patience

Hi CapZap1970,

the most simple way to get the bridge is the following way:
- first step: i presume that you are using a super-MOD with Kiel Canal (GXX). Just copy the folder "Rendsburger_Strassen_Drehbruecke_Mod" from your D/L into your MODS-folder. Aktivate this with JSGME.
- second step: open the file "Campaign_LND.mis" with the "MissionEditor", select "Land", then "German" and then "RR-Bridge", drag this enty to the place you want to see the bridge;
- drop that into the middle of the Kiel Canal, adjust the "tail" (of this object) you see parallel to the Canal (in MissionEditor: Heading).

That's all for the "classic" Kiel Canal terrain. Then make a small test-mission to proofe whether the location of the bridge is o.k.

Greetings
rowi58

EDIT: i mean the second folder "Rendsburger_Strassen_Drehbruecke_Mod" with the one sub-folder "data" and then "Land" and "Roster".

Buenos diaz, CapZap1970!

For installation of the bridge the "Locations.cfg" is not needed! It brought them only in connection with the new terrain to the ports and localities to place properly.

Also many thanks to Thfeu58 for the preparation of the terrain, like in the Bridges.

In the following release, about Sept. 2009, by LSH III (4.1 or 5.0?, isn't fixed), the “Levensau Highbridge”, the “Rendsburg turnable road-bridge” and this "Holtenau lighthouse area", with new Terrain is integrated.

And now ... a lot of fun, just like a little patience when installing Hopes.

What he said. I've tried twice now and royally screwed it up twice. Good thing I made a backup, so my regular GWX still works.

I'm hoping when they're done some kind genius puts it all together for those of us who are Mod Challenged.
