Radar detector doesn't work during deck awash !

Hi to all,

yesterday I was sailing at deck awash navigation. Depth 7.8 meters, wind 5m/s, night. All fine....

Suddently the WO adviced me the presence of a ship, pretty far... IT WAS A DD!!

Now, I have the radar emission detector installed so I was expecting to be reported about radar emissions. I went to full surfece, and soon I had the report of radar emissions!!

My question is.... is deck awash navigation not allowing the radar detector working properly?? ......it would seem so..... Is there a fix for that??

Which U-Boat did you have?

The Node for the Detector may need to be raised a slight amount.

Hi!

it's a VIIC.

I didn't test other depths. I was at 7.8 or 7.9 meters, just before the depth at which the diving manouver starts.

The detector is FuMB-1 Metox.
