I still need to add tube doors (need help on that to anyone reading this) and a few more details but they look great in game.

The new Alrosa will be playable complete with its own acoustic signature and handeling characteristics (although I'm not sure if being less manuverable at low speed is possable just less manuverable at all speeds).

Also good news i sucessfully cut the tube doors in the mesh. I just need to add the tubes and tweek the shutter doors so they open properly. Then I'm going to remake the aft dive planes so they are more accurate based on some new photos I found via google.

Why not sacrifice one of the playable kilo already in the game.
Right now we have 2 kilo class subs, the 877 and 636.
Get rid of one of these and replace it with the Alrosa. :D

But you're not eliminating all the playable kilos just to make room for the Alrosa. You're eliminating either the playable 877 kilo or the playable 636 kilo not both. Maybe I just don't understand what the problem is. :hmmm:

My guess is that you either think the Project 877 and Project 636 are individual submarines or that you think they are the same because they both share the name Kilo. Neither is true. The Project 877 and Project 636 are distinct submarines classes with different specifications, with several individual submarines in each class. The Alrosa is a modified Project 877, just one sub out of 11 Russian Project 877s in DW.

OK, here's an idea. The next release could have two database versions. The standard database has a playable 877 class and a new nonplayable 877-mod class consisting of the Alrosa. We throw in a special database that changes the playable 877 class to the 877-mod class, and create a nonplayable 877 class. You use the special database if and only if you're going to load a mission where someone plays as the Alrosa and there are no other playable 877s around. (Note that this special database will not be compatible with missions made with 877 Kilos other than the Alrosa).

I was thinking for a moment that this wouldn't work because you'd need to swap models, but really, you just need to change the model referenced in the database, and that's easy.

Come to think of it, this concept sounds familiar. I wonder... is this how SCU worked? Well, if it is, I'm not going to care in this instance. As far as I'm concerned, we are fixing an existing playable because the Alrosa has been in the stock database since the day DW was released, it just had the wrong model and spec's.

There are enough versions of the Kilo ingame that one could easily be exchanged for the Alrosa.

Ok guys I got a problem here. I've made much improved tube doors (thanks to Spookymufu's advice) but the tube doors don't move. I've named them "TORP_DOOR_#" but they don't move like the originals. My prevous attempt at tube doors don't work anymore eather. Whats going on? Anyone got any ideas?

Yes, a new SW model would be a genuine upgrade from the stock, misproportioned model. Can't wait. All the models look great, any ETA on the next iteration of LW&A TLAM?

Plus I have to paint the Akula, and Seawolf models. Add tubes and sensors to the Akula and make an Akula II Mod model.

Are they moving at all? You will have to experiment moving pivots around.

Also as I said in a different thread the names have to be exact as they are in stock DW. They are also case sensitive. MAX can sometimes change the case of an item name.

Here is how to animated an torpedo door.

The animated parts do work in the same way as they do in Fleet Command.

All you need to do is,

1. Select the part you want to animate.
2. Name part TORP_DOOR_1 for example.
3. Go to a tab called "Hierarchy” on one of the panels.
4. Click "affect pivot only"
5. Click "Center to object"
6. Click "align to world"
7. Move the pivot to point to the top of the torpedo door.

BTW: the control codes of those "animate modules of playable" contain in the "dangerouswater.exe", change that codes, like "names of animate modules",change things

easy, use any Hex tool, like "WinHex", open "*.exe", there you go.

but change the codes efficiently, that is another story, due to the "byte limit".
same as the "*.dll" modification

If you like any kind of modification regard "exe" or "dll", let me know.

Hey TLAM. Are you still taking request? An improved Virginia Class model would be nice. The one from SCX is great, but the sonar dome isn't quite right and the color scheme isn't accurate.

Sweet album. Love the LCS. It would make a great addition to the game. As for the Virginia, yes I was referring to an improved model from the SCX model (as opposed to a flight 2 VA).

Any time-frame on the next version of LWAM?

Any time-frame on the next version of LWAM? Yes the LCS along with some of its support assests like the Sea Scout UAV will be in the next LWAMI. ;)

As for a time frame it lookes like the team restarting work following some computer problems so no time frame as yet but I expect some exciting stuff to happen in the months ahead. I know I'm redoubling my efforts in the 3d graphics department (real lift allowing). :yeah:

Until that DB issue came up which messed up backwards compatablity we were days from release of some neat stuff. :damn:

DWX already has a tug boat, of sorts. Check in the USNI reference under civilian.

Although it would be nice to have a couple of different ones. :D

I ask RA Team about some of the model's I gave TLAM Strike and they didn't seem interested in them. :salute:
