How do I create my own training scenarios in order to practice manual targeting techniques? After initially reading the various threads on manual targeting I succumbed to playing with auto-targeting – I’m sorry… :) In addition to the added realism, I am tired of chasing/intercepting targets only to not be able to get a ‘lock’ (or even see them) due to deplorable weather conditions! :wah::damn:
Ideally I would like to be able to vary somewhat the number/type of ships, course/speed, weather/visibility, sub position relative to targets, etc.
I apologize if this has been covered before – I am sure it has – I just couldn’t locate the relative thread(s).

just use the single missions, they are quick with fast and repeatable actiono so you can redo the areas your weak in.
try the midway mission for warships and the convoy missions for merchants
if you just need to practice basic targetting and such you can use my torpedo test misions with a large amount of stationary targets then when you get your "aim" correct you can move on to moving targets with the single missions.
not sure if those are the ones you read but rockin robbins has some very good targetting tutorials

Most of the single missions start off too close to the action to give you time for a proper analysis and approach. But SH4 comes with its own program to create your own missions. You can also use the program to modify one or more of the single missions and put yourself further from the setup.

I've got a nice little 'real patrol' (actual patrol footage) video tut coming up. (Looked at RRs vids and thought that I should do this )
Ingedients:
Latest RFB + RSRD + Real Enviro
Websters mods
Some cosmetic mods
My own RealNav = No Map icons, No target updates or plotting.. actually zippo.
Reality = 100%
All you have is the sonar (Radar if you have it - I don't have it yet) and the Mark-I eyeball, Mark-I brain (never been used before :rotfl:) and some chewing tobacco.

Ive created a number of training and testing scenarios using the mission editor. One of the best features of this game!:up:
