It came as a zip folder.
I have extracted the files.

What do I do with the files to make this slide rule appear in SH3?
I cannot find any read me files telling me this info.

hello Sea Hawk,
take the file ''sliderule+aob tools for olc gui 127'' and drop it into your MODS folder.
then run the jsgme, first enable the olc's gui 127 and then enable the ''sliderule+aob tools for olc gui 127''.
close the jsgme and run the game.
the sliderule will show at the right of your screen when you clic on nav officer and the aob tool will show when you clic on weapon officer.

bye

I'm probably being a bit thick here, but its the first time I have altered program files.

Where would I find my MODS folder?
Ive looked in C:\Program Files\Ubisoft\SilentHunterIII\data

How do I run the jsgme? where would i find the jsgme?

JSGME is an application that helps with replacing files altered by mods:

http://www.users.on.net/~jscones/software/products-jsgme.html

It is automatically installed into the Sh3 gamefolder with GWX. But since you don't have it you must do it yourself. The application must be placed into the sh3 game folder, and it must be started once to create the MODS folder there. After closing the application you can extract the particular mod there in the MODS folder. When you start the application again you can enable the mod which actually replaces the files of Sh3.

So, will the problems I am experiencing be solved by downloading GWX?

It depends on what problems you mean. I haven't seen you mention a problem here about this slideruler mod. And not having JSGME on your pc isn't really what I would call a problem. Though it makes mod-use alot simpler.

If you mean with the hydrophone tutorial I suggest you keep that discussion there in your thread. Otherwise it get's confussing.

Does it also work with olc gui special?

if olc gui special and olc gui 127 are using the same menu_ini and dials.cfg then.. yes you can use it with olc gui special.
but you have to ask olc (who is the athour of gui special and 127) to confirm that

I have downloaded and installed this mod and it appears to work well.

My question is: Is there a manual or a tutorial that explains the two different sliderules?

hello Platapus (.....greek name?;))

did you read the readme text ?

in there you will find instruction of how to use the aob tool
also ,as i said in the readme, you can find instructions for the sliderule(back side of attack disc ) in 'u-jagd 1.3.1' mod . get it from here: http://hosted.filefront.com/joegrundman/

joegrudman is the athour of this amazing tool . the uses of this tool are unlimited and was difficult to describe all (neither do i know all of them) in the readme

Thanks for the assist!

When I unzipped the files the readme did not copy over (probably due to operator error)

I found the readme and it answers my question. Thanks :yeah:
