Hi all.
I am trying the sub mod : SNLE - The Terrible (Triumphant class). The sub performs as it should and everything in the game seems normal other than the fact that no matter what year I start my American career in, all the ships are neutral. Although radio messages indicate we are at war, etc...the usual messages we get when in a campaign.
I am running these mods, in this order, after a clean install:
TMO 1.7
real environment
warships retextured
real environment loading screen
lite fog mod (for real environment mod)
SNLE - The Terrible (sub mod)
This sub mod comes from here: http://pagesperso-orange.fr/xavier.petit/ but I'm asking for help from subsim because the site is in French and the sub mod has no readme.
Is there something I can change to make the ships enemies? They just want to be friends right now. :damn:
Thanx all.

Trouble shoot.
First off the side targets are on is controled by the defside.cfg file in data/roster folder.
So first thing I would do is unload all the mods you have loaded back to stock. Then I would go to your last SNLE mod and see if the above file is in the mod.
neutral = 0
allies = 1
axis = 2
Verify the side entry is correct and the dates.
Also, have you tried running SNLE by itself?

Runningdeer - I can't help with your problem but had to say Howdy! to a fellow Austinite playing SH4!

Thank you for your reply...well, I removed all mods, back to stock 1.5, then I looked for ; side 0 - neutral; side 1 - allies; side 2 - axis, in Le Terrible mod but couldnt find this entry. So then I applied the sub mod by itself to stock v1.5 and found the above entry. But still find nothing but friendlies throughout the war. So I'm assuming "Le Terrible" may not be campaign compatible.
I tried tomgagbrie'ls Skipjack & Ohio SSBN mods, they work in campaign both with and without TMO 1.7. So I've been using the Skipjack. (It is capable of working in the shallows at periscope depth)
Thanks again for your reply NEON DEON, because I learned a little bit about the game files, etc.:know:

NP.
I downloaded the SNLE mod and fixed it. It now works within campaign.
I dont know if I can post the fix because its not my mod tho and you are right it has no read me.
I will have to ask about this.
If you want, I can explain how to do it. It is not that hard.

I would like the fix please. Although I mostly like the weapons of WWII, I have been enjoying these other sub mods on the side. I like Le Terrible because it navigates the shallows and for speed when I explore the map. This one also seems to dive and surface quicker, although I may be wrong.
Thank you for your time :yep:.

Ok
Uninstall all mods from SH IV with JSGME.
Take the SNLE mod and go to the data/submarine/NSS_688I/
Open the NSS_688i.upc file with notepad.
You will see this:
[UserPlayerUnit 1]
ID=688i
NameDisplayable=SNLE Le Terrible
UnitName= SNLE Le Terrible
Type=688i
UpgradeClass=0
UnitInterval= 1920-10-29, 1948-01-01
ExternalClassName=SS688i
Nationality=France
CrewRanks=12
Evolution= Normal
Damage= 0
TextureName=data/Submarine/NSS_688i/NSS_688i_T01.tga
LightmapTextureName=NULL
NormalmapTextureName= NULL
MenuSilhouetteTextureName= 688i_01.tga
[UserPlayerUnit 1.UnitPartSlot 1]
ID=688iConningSlot
NameDisplayable=SNLE Le Terrible
Type=NULL
AcceptedTypes=688iConningTower
IDLinkUnitPartIntervalDefault1= NULL, 1946-09-15, 688iClassConning1
ExternalNodeName3D= Z01
Change the green line to read American instead of France.
Step 2.
Go to Data/roster folder
You will see only one folder:
France
Open it then the submarine folder too.
One configure file should be there. SS688i.cfg
Copy it.
Step 3.
Open the Data/roster folder
Create a new folder inside the roster folder and name it:
American
Open the American folder then create a new folder inside it and name it:
Submarine
Copy the SS688i.cfg file into the Submarine folder you just made.
Verify the path
Data/Roster/American/Submarine/SS688i.cfg
That should do it.
Load it up with JSGME and try it by itself first.
I recommend you use campaign start Manila 1941 first so you can get to the enemy quick.
I scooted up to Formosa(Taiwan) and sank a japanese fishing boat with a MK 27.:D The target showed red on the map.
Good Luck

NEON DEON ... Success. Works great. Thanks for the fix & simplifying the instructions, it made it seem easy.
I'm not a modder, but I would think that Le Terrible would be a good mod to build onto. Maybe somebody will do that one day.

Kewl!
Yes I like the mod it has a few quirks in it and needs a read me real bad.
There are a bunch of display names that are messed up that need fixing and a torpedo tweak or two.
Let me know if you find anything strange in the Mod while you are touring the Pacific.
