Hello all, looking a mod ( Hope this doesn't make me a noob)

In SH4 when you hover over a dial ( speed, rudder, depth ) the dial grows in size to allow better accuracy in selection.

Anything like that for SH3 ??

My eyes are not what they used to be..LOL

Or even better is there one that allows you to type the speed, bearing, depth etc..now that would be amazing !!

Many Thanks !!

I use the 'Simfeeling 6-Dials' mod by FLB Sale. It removes everything from the screen, leaving it blank. The dials are very large, and they only slide out when you want them.

Same with the info bar holding the officers' positions and the subtitles. I didn't realize no one had put it up for download yet. I'll get it up tomorrow.

No, it works by itself or with other mods, OLCGUI being the major exception.

Installation is fairly complicated. First install the folders as described. Second, make a backup copy of the Dials and Menu.ini files and rename them by adding 'Orig' to the names, so if you do make a mistake you can start over with the originals. Follow the directions closely, copy and paste each changed section. One thing to remember: one file not to copy is the one for the Compass. If you do you'll have two of them.

I'll make a copy of mine and give you more details tomorrow.

Oh, and where did you find it? I brought it to upload, but if it's already there I don't need to, but I can't find it anywhere.

Okay, the first thing you need to do is remove the slide-out compass already in GWX. It could be worked around, but that's even more complicated. How to do it is here:

After that, open up the mod and follow the instructions to the letter. Installing the dials themselves is easy, since as with most mods they have a path that takes them where they need to go.

The changes to the Dials.cfg and Menu.ini are the hard part, but not as hard as they seem at first. Make a backup of each so when (not 'if') you mess it up you can change it back and start over. Rename the original (I use Dials_orig and Menu_orig) and start reading the instructions. It's easier to copy and paste each one, rather than retype it.

It takes some time and some work, but the result is one of the coolest mods out there.

If you run into any trouble along the way, just let me know and I'll do what I can. Another option is to copy your entire Data folder and put it up on FileFront. Then I can download it and do it for you and get it back to you in a couple of days. The other option would be for me to just put my Data folder up for you to download, but then you'd be stuck with the mods I'm using and you might not like them.

Anyway, we'll get this sorted out.
