Specifically, the crewmen standing at the two radar stations in early war boats. The consoles are there, all the switches and dials and display...they just don't do anything yet. Which makes the guys standing there...well, kinda silly, really.
Has there been any work to make variant interiors for the boats that eventually get the radar sets, but don't have them yet?
Not that I know, but if someone finds the way to do it, it would also be nice to see manned dive planes only when the sub is submerged, and never when surfaced :wah:

Ah, well, that'd be spiffy, indeed! :D
Even better - at least in the case of the not-installed radar - would be if the stations themselves were gone. This would probably call for 2 conning tower room models (one a slight variation of the other). But MAN, that would be nice.
If you move those sailors to the damage control team? :hmmm:

Well, as noted, there are a few ways to get rid of the PEOPLE...temporarily, anyway...but the station still exists.
In an ideal world, we'd have a second mesh for the conning tower interior that took out the radar stations when the radar wasn't present. (Put something else there - I dunno, a table or something. Heck, that might be the EASIEST way to make it go away - just add a table mesh that overlays the top of the radar displays. Make it look like those guys are looking at maps or something. :03: )

The station is still present, though!
As a serious thought - would it actually be hard to have the post-refit subs reference a different conning-tower-interior-mesh than the pre-refit subs? I mean, obviously the sub CLASSES are capable of referencing different conning-tower-interiors to begin with (there are a few variations on the interior model). I guess the trick would just be making sure that the pre-refit version and post-refit version show up as distinct classes.

No, not with the way the interiors are set up.
