Played 688i back in the day. Then moved to Sub Command. Now DW.
I have SH4 installed too but the eye candy is nice (very nice) but I dunno, just can't get into it much.....too much time compression needed IMHO and there's always those pesky planes the ruin the TC anyway as your heading back to base..........but I do have questions regarding both sims.

I just installed DW again, and I would like to know YOUR "must have" mods.

2) I have an ATI Radeon 4870 card (oooooh....aaaaahhhhh).....anthing I should know about that? Settings? Avoiding problems, etc....

3) Do you use voice commands? If so, does anyone use a wireless mic setup? See, I have my computer hooked up to my big screen 50" DLP Samsung HDTV......(uuooooh......ahhhh) (yes I'm a lucky bastage).....and I'm looking for an affordable, wireless mic/bluetooth thingy to use voice commands.

I suppose that is all for now? Oh,,,except this......with patch 1.04 and perhaps those "must have" mods.....are there any pitfalls with those in regards to the boxed campaign? Only reason I ask is because if I remember correctly....there was a campaign where a certain mission was driving me NUTS...I could not complete it no matter what. I finally came here and asked about it, and as it turned out, it was a known bug caused by a patch that everyone on the planet knew about except me (of course) :damn::damn: So that's why I asked.

What boat do you drive? I'm an american thru and thru......but darn that Russian Akula is just plain wicked sexy to me. I almost always drive that boat.

Sorry for the rant, any answers welcome. Thank you very much.

1) For Dangerous Waters, the mod to get is the LWAMI mod. You can get it at
http://www.commanders-academy.com/forum/downloads.php?do=file&id=125

2) I couldn't tell you but others here will know.

3) I tend not to use voice commands. I don't trust the computer's ability to translate my voice. I really want to avoid saying something like "TMA Station" and then hearing "SURFACE !! SURFACE !!"

As far as missions with issues, the first mission of Russian Rebellion has an issue where if you use the American or Russian sub, they get detected as soon as the mission starts. I alleviated it by going into the mission editor and altering the start points for them a little bit (Moved them more to the east) and now it works fine. There's also a fixed mission file for one of the Russian Rebellion campaign missions on the Subguru site as well, but I forget what it is.

With LWAMI enabled, playing the stock campaign can be ROUGH to near impossible in some places, but 99% of the missions out there are written with LWAMI in mind. Go to www.subguru.com (http://www.subguru.com)
LOTS of missions and campaigns there. Enough to keep you occupied for YEARS !

The must have mods are 3. As Blacklight already mentioned there is lwami which improves the gameplay drastically over stock dw. Unfortunately it doesn't add any new playable units. Alfa Tau 3 and Reinforce Alert mods on the other hand add a lot of new playble units, subs and surface units even some air units. AT3 you can download from subguru's website, RA instead hasn't had a general release but it is getting near completion.

You know that a fairly functional version of RA was released and is floating around right now. ("RA_OPFOR_PACK.rar" released May 2008) A later doctrine fix was released ("error_fix_ra-opfor-pack.rar") as well.

I would acknowledge its existence, even if encouraging others to wait for the new version.
