after getting killed by invisible flooding once again I would like to ask if any modder can take a look at the damage models of the Subs. I'm kinda fed up with flooding you can't see or fix. I at least would like to know when I'm screwed like in sh3 when I had flooding that I couldn't fix.
thanks,

Sounds like you are playing stock. If so, look at the hull damage. If the number is greater than 000, you might sink if you dive too deep. The higher the number, the less deep you will have a hull failure.

I have FOTRS for 1.5 installed....
the thing is I got hit with a couple bombs (I was playing around the Solomons and apparently unlike stock, the aircraft in operation watchtower now attack you)
well I had 35% hull damage but no flooding but I randomly started to sink. I blew tanks kept her from going down (although I was vertical in the water fro some time)
is there a way to make only damage you can see effect flooding?? and for that matter only flooding you can see effect sinking?
Your sub (in RL ) if your ballast tanks are holed, you cannot blow air into them to surface (ie: you remain submerged). You would not see this damage at all. If it was an air-filled tank... you'd see air pressure drop, that's it.

well actually my sub came up...
well at least it should show flooding... or at least let you know your tanks are shot...

thats why some mods remove the damage indicator altogether, because it doesnt reflect all damage and can misslead you into thinking your ok.
