1) I have been wondering for the longest time if this mod is being updated? Will it be included into the bigger mods at some point? Is anyone still including it into there MOD setups, I am. Once the new "Real Environment" mod comes out, will we need this mod anymore? Thanks for all concerned.

2) One other thing, I own a "old" Dell 9100 with a Ati Radeon 1600, and I was wondering if it's possible to use one of the newer HD models. My power is at 375 and I am looking for a way to get alot more FPS than what I have now. Using XP and loving it.

Hello Goldrick. I'm not sure if this mod is being updated anymore. I use the RFB mod which contains it's own sounds, many of which are taken from actual naval recordings. I would imagine that when the new environment mod is released, it will contain all new sounds (the little demo video that Kriller released stated: New environment sounds), makeing the ROW sounds obsolete. That's just my opinion of course.

As for your second question, you need to determine the minimum power requirement for the card. I imagine it's more than 375 watts. I have an older Dell as well (Dimension 8250) with an ATI X1650pro. I upgraded the power supply to a 425 watt model, something Dell said could not be done. All is not lost. If you go here: www.pcpowerandcooling (http://www.pcpowerandcooling) you will find a PSU for Dell computers. They're a bit pricey, but high quality. Other upgrades I did was max out the memory (only 1gig of 1066RDRAM:wah: ) and also purchased the largest CPU the MB would accept. I also added a PCI slot dual fan cooling card I purchased from the above site, to aid in the interior cooling.

Another thing you need to do to improve your FPS, is to D/L a utility like FSautostart. This free utility originally used by the flightsim community, will automaticly shut down and restart all background applications that use memory. This frees up your memory allowing it to be used by the game.It will also defrag your memory.

I hope you find some of this useful.

Hi JGoldrick, The "ROW sounds vers 9" will not be included in the real environment mod, but I will suggest that users who are not runing any of the bigger mods, like RFB or TM use them as they realy add alot to the feeling of being in a submarine in the middle of the pacific.

TM allready uses alot of these sounds and I think RFB uses some of them to, as most of the sounds were made by LukeFF who is a proud RFB team member.

The real environment mod will contain some new sounds you have not heard before like waves rolling around the submarine and a new splash sound when the submarine hits the waves and some more, but wont include a "full" sound mod".

@To everyone else reading this thread:
Due to alot of requests I have uploaded the "ROW sound mod vers 9" to the PE4 threads first page, go get them if you are running SH4 with stock sounds! ;)

Thank you kind gentlemen, you both have provided the answer I was looking for. This mod will have a long life, regardless of what mods are being used. :yeah:
