Problems with TC, RFB?

I have been having some serious prob's with corrupted saves using RFB/RSDC.

What I have noticed is that when using high rates of TC (over 4000), the game gets out of sync. with day/night; i.e. broad daylight at 04:30, pitch black night at noon.

Usually what follows is that when I save the game and try to restart, it CTD.

My display is set for 1680x1050

video card-ATI RADEON HD 4850 512 meg vid. ram

I will try updating my driver, but in the meantime any suggestions?

Enabling mods or patches or altering files out of port can cause all sorts of strange behavior.I did that once and ended up with a game that fired off all the torpedoes previously expended as soon as it was loaded. It also kept reporting "Passing Thermal Layer", and the time of day and night acted like you described.
