View Full Version : Fatigue. I hate it in GWX 3.0. Any way to disable it?

So is there anyway to get rid of fatigue once and for all in GWX 3.0?

I know fatigue was meant to add some sense of realism but I can't play with ease in real time with fatigue on. I mean my crews get tired easily in a one or two hours while my stalking, attacking and getting away period may take a few hours easily.

Hey Castout! :DL

Maybe you try the SH3 Commander 3.2. It has a "No fatigue" option and many more features. I don't want to play without it, since I tried it.

Get the SH3 Commander HERE (http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/showthread.php?t=147237)

And you will need the compability files for GWX 3.0.

Get them HERE (http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/showthread.php?t=147567)

Maybe you give it a try. ;)

Yeah ...I have to admit after trying to like rotating my crew every 6 to 8 hours to simulate a shift and doing this for a long time now I threw in the towel and went "no fatigue" just last week and I am enjoying the game more even thought I didnt want to give up on it.

With an auto crew rotation it would be great but, alas, it is not to be.

Thanks smutje but all the links pointing to SH3 Commander have been deleted. Do you know any link that work?

Hmmm turned out that it seemed my XP installation was corrupted. I allowed one extra unknown network to hook into my PC and that was dumb. In the end after I had deleted that unknown network I was unable to connect to the internet. Somehow that same network kept on appearing rather than my ISP network. Even when I allowed connection to that dubious network I was unable to get an ip address and there was very limited connection as to almost none.

I've migrated to Vista x64 now and so far I haven't found any problem that I cannot handle. Thanks for asking Smutje :)
Lesson learned: Do not allow unknown network to connect to your PC.

it is more realistic without fatigue, because in real life they would switch periodicly.

so this simulates that.

would be cool if you could program shifts and then the amount of time each shift serves.

They'd be too tired to socialize with you, and they would smell pretty bad too. And the crabs... do you really want that? :o

I'm gonna think aloud here....if a seperate program could be written that could track the game time clock and simulate the user rotating the crew then it could run along side SH3. OLC touched on this idea briefly when he tried to address the watch crew always going into the torpedo room when you dived.

A feature could be added to SH3 commander enabling the user to allocate crew to each of the watches prior to game start. The seperate watch manager would rotate the watches automatically but also allow the user to manually intervene during periods of "high fatigue" (such as during attacks). I think this would be an ideal solution....

Anyone with the necessary mod experience think its possible ?

You can disable the fatigue without using SH3 Commander by editing the basic.cfg file, all you need to do is create another directory in the MOD folder called Fatigue Mod/data/cfg when using the mod enabler software, copy the origional basic.cfg file located in the data/cfg directory to your mod directory.

Inside the basic.cfg file look for [FATIGUE_COEF] set all the numbers to zero see below, I've already set this up for my young nephew.

I brought this up a year or so ago. The easiest fix would be to use those buttons in the crew management screen. I never use them myself. God, I forgot what they are but I think there are four of them: Repair, Submerged Attack, Submerged Cruise, Surface Attack (or something like that)

You could change it to: Watch 1, Watch 2, Watch 3 and Repair (I actually use the Repair one)

Alas, they are hardcoded and untouchable or so I've been told.

Another problem with the above status/condition buttons is the fact that they are notorious for causing the game to ctd.

Would be great...except for the fact that crew tires out way to easily. When Im in hunting mode my torpedo room crew always gets fatigued in less than 2 IN GAME hours when in real time or at/below 64 TC. Even when crew was on battlestations Im sure they didnt just stay there 3 hours then tell the Kaluen "Im to tired to work".

Yes, or auto-switch every crewman after he drops to an efficiency-level-of-choice (like, say, 75%).
