Hello :D
I use latest TMO, SH4 with Add-on, US campaign, never play stock game.
After long battle some parts of my ship was damaged, then I repair almost everything (without cannon, dunno why, repair crew working on the surface without effects). Now I was in port, refitting only, so cannon and everything is repair, great :D
I go to Surabaya, my new port, but I spot nice, big Maru, so, I decided to attack,
and.........................everything was ready to launch torpedo and I see info "TOO MUCH TORPEDO BOW (TUBE?) DAMAGE" and NOTHING, I can't use any torpedo!
But there is no info about any damage in "damage control station", I'm after refitting, everything should be ok, hull damage is 000, I have no idea what is wrong.
Sorry for my english
Please, I do something wrong? this is bug? TMO bug, stock bug? .................

its not a bug, its supposed to be that way.
the way the game works is only minor damage is fixed when refitting, any major damage stays damaged until you end the patrol. always check your hull damage when entering and leaving port to know how weak you are.
anything over 50% damage you may as well end the patrol unless your really good at avoiding being damaged, but then you wouldnt have over 50% damage to start with would you lol.
sorry to say but your only fix is to finish the patrol with stern tubes only or return to home port and end the patrol so you get a new boat without damage.

Thank You WEBSTER :)
Just one thing, why I don't see any info about any damage in "damage control station"? Repair queue is clean, hull is 100%, is it OK?
Only when I try to launch torpedo I have info that I can't because of damage, this is intentionally TMO or stock game idea?

For what it's worth ... I just completed five patrols after being damaged in a gun battle with a destroyer. According to all indicators everything was repaired and functional but since the resulting damage level was only about 22% I kept playing my career. Apparently there was unrepaired damage to one of my fuel tanks. I assumed that this was the case because each time I went into a nearby port to be refueled (and rearmed), as soon as the fuel tanks were topped off they would quickly drain down to about 66%. The problem was that upon leaving port and then reporting by radio I would be assigned a new mission area and upon completion was unable reach my newly assigned home port at Midway on the fuel remaining. I finally figured out that if I refueled, just left port, and didn't report to COMSUBPAC by radio, I wouldn't be re-assigned to a new mission area. I simply went straight to my home port in Midway from Darwin in "stealth" mode... I finally cruised the last few miles on battery with empty tanks where I received a promotion, medals, and an upgrade to a Gato class sub. I think this verifies that often unknown major damage is not repaired by the crew or anywhere other than home ports. Unfortunately you learn this the hard way at times just like in real life. PS when I got to my home port I had the extra bonus of upgrading to the new versions of TMO and RSRD ... FANTASTIC JOB! WOW! It just keeps gettin better! Thanks!!!

it shows the "pressure hull" damage not all damage, things like rudder and torpedo doors etc. arent shown anywhere so you can be 100% and still have damage.

I cruised into my patrol area and suddenly heard the sound and breaking glass. Someone said that the boat was taking damage. It was in deep, open water and no ships near. I checked for damage and saw none, and blithely put the boat back on course. I encountered a merchant and painstakingly set up for an attack. When I tried to fire the bow torpedoes, my crew said they could not fire due to bow tube damage. What a friggin waste of time. The boat showed no damage!! I ended the patrol sailing 3,000 miles to Pearl Harbor, and gave the Admiral and the creators of SH4 hell, and demanded a refund. How did this happen? (RFB with RSRDC with TSAC mod.)

I saw that episode, Webster. Kirk handled it just like I attack merchants. Fire six torpedoes in a massive spread and pray!
Your humor is appreciated, too.:yeah:
I wonder if you hit a small scholl that was too small to see on the map until you zoom in. That has happened to me. There are lots of those scattered about.

Very, very interesting. Perceptive, too. I had not thought of that possibility. Hey, my boat is looking for a new skipper.....You looking for a transfer?

I have to wonder too. I'm in the middle of a patrol. Earlier, I dove to about 350 feet and was not paying enough attention and scraped bottom. The crew reported taking damage, but there is nothing visible and no problems thus far... We'll see. :hmmm:
Also be wary of small scholls hidden under your objective star. I have blithly had my navigator plot the standard search pattern within my circle only to hit a damn scholl hidden there.
