What's With the Neccessity of Clicking the TDC Twice?

What's the Deal With Clicking the TDC Twice? I was just posting here...http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/showthread.php?p=1027397#post1027397 and this subject came up and I've never heard an explaination of why.

Here's the issue...When input is done on the TDC and the PK is off, it requires at least two clicks on the TDC input button for the TDC to update correctly. Does anyone know the reasoning behind this (if any) or is this one of those unexplained bug kinda things? I'm sure I'm not the first to wonder the signifigance.

I can demonstrate that two clicks are necessary but don't know why. Check out any of my tutorial videos. I believe I was the one who discovered the situation. I am still not sure whether the problem is only one of display or if the targeting is actually wrong.

It's sort of like when your computer hangs and you reboot. You might spend hours and hours analyzing the problem or just hit reset and fix it. What was wrong? Who cares? It's fixed.:know:

As for the "2 Click Thing", I've been aware of it for a long time, but never really thought if there was a reason for it and never thought to ask either. It appears nobody else does as well. It just seems odd.

This has to be a major source of frustration to many who are trying to learn manual targeting and are doing all the right thinking when taking their approach to input a proper solution, only for their fish to miss, only because they are not aware they need to click twice. Who would'a thunk it! :hmm:
