I would have asked in tread [REL] Trigger Maru Overhauled 1.6.2 - Overhauled (now for Sh4 1.5 and 1.4) Updated 3 Jan 2009 , But no one answers Duci's jailbird tread. Not enjoying such dense fog, desire 400Yd.visiability.Tired of spending 4days on station
W/fog denseity@100Yds. If we could get a visual lock,& PK.we could get A hit,in auto TDC. The way it is now,all you can do is ram,an shoot it out:doh: Not smart:dead:
&,weather doesn't change till you brake contact, sonar,& radar:roll: Anyone got A reverse engineering fix ?

Have you tried a passive sonar/hydrophone approach.

I managed to knock off a ship at ~2000m range, in 'blizzard' weather - with a single torp mind you .

In auto TDC that shot would be dead luck.

Assuming your running at 100% 'reality', You can set up the TDC manually with all the 'guestimate' details. Set scope to firing position and follow the ship with hydrophone.
At the right moment push the big red button.

It is a luck shot, this is why I'd fire only one torp.

This may sound obvious, but have you tried disabling "Volumetric Fog" in the options menu? From some of what I've read, it seems there are a few problems with the newest TMO. I'm gonna stick with the 152 version for now.

Has no accurate sonar plot. But ! auto TDC.allows hip shoots @ Escorts. Having played both ways.A hip shot @ 100% is as bad as the fog of war. It is a trade off prefference in game play. Although w/ decks wash, now in auto TDC.you have
Radar to assist, you can set TBT in scope To aprox.angle, then set spread angle to lead target blip @ close to med.range, even in heavy fog. This isn't to bad.
Soundman sir,
Never used "Volumetric Fog" Can you see in that pea soup ?

I'm still using TMO 152, so I have not seen this issue. I also don't use "Volumetic Fog", only because it's a frame rate killer for me. I just thought if you were using it, disabling it would perhaps help. For now, I'm sticking to the 152 version until some of the problems have been ironed out.

I have been playing TMO 1.62 since it came out--playing it every day. No problems at all. Some heavy fog as described, but that's always been true.

OK, good to hear it's working well for you, maybe I'll load it up after I finish my patrol.

BTW, do you or anyone for that matter, know if Ducimus' jail term is permanent or when he may be up for parole. It would sure be a shame to not have him here any more considering all he has done for me and many others, and the game in general.

I do not know, but share your feelings about it. Maybe one of the moderators could shed some light on it for you.
