View Full Version : [Req] weather changing prompt

I think I know the answer but we have so many great and new minds modding lately I thought I would give it a try.

Problem: You are on the bridge with calm seas and you go to the map screen and high TC for say 500 km. You come up to the bridge to take a look and see that you are now in a storm(nice communication 2nd watch ha)

In the speech files they have options for weather getting bad and inproving but the triggers were never finished. Any thought on how this could be finished.

I am thinking what ever trips the weather to change would have to trip the SDL speech file but that is the extent of my modding knowledge.

Any thoughts

The speech files arent in the sdl
data\Cfg and you will find the Message_CH etc
Best look at a stock one as most commands have been removed or altered from mods

If there is no trigger ingame not sure can be added
If its turned off possible to turn on
Depends what file its in whether can be touched

Must admit know very little about the triggers

I could be wrong but I understood the "sdl" told the game what speech files to play and when.
PT may have a better knowledge as his latest sound mod totally revamped the "sld" if I rember correctly ...also did not Racersboys one mod add new sounds to the game ie new sound files not just modding what was there??

Yes new sound files are addable and have been for a loooooong time
Or the V1\Air raid siren etc couldnt be heard or new aircraft sounds

Open the sdl
I see no specific crew voices in there
Just a reference to the speech folder
