You know since the first day that GWX came out I've been wanting to play it but I used to had been on dial-up connection so it was not possible for me to download it. Then came GWX 2.0 then 2.1 and still I could only watch and read how people were pleased and enjoying them. There was even a guy on this forum who promised to send me GWX on a cd but the cd never reached me either that or it was never sent in the first place.
Now I'm downloading GWX 3.0. Is this the final version of GWX. I can't believe it even could reach this far. Its been a while and I want to say thank you for the faithful modders who contributed to GWX 3.0 development.
Btw
I cannot find any link to the OLC mod which allows you to calculate an accurate manual torpedo solution. And I think the mod isn't incorporated in GWX 3.0 is it? Any pointers to the mod?
Once I finished downloading GWX 3.0 is there a soul out there who is now in my previous situation with a dial-up connection which makes it impossible for you to download GWX though you've been wanting to download it? I will try to help one soul and send him a dvd with GWX 3.0 in it. Assuming my DVD writer is still good though because the last time I burnt something it couldn't be opened in a friend's PC. The DVD writer is only a little over 1 year old and I hardly used it to burn CDs/DVDs though. One soul only then that man could help another fellow to get his GWX 3.0 in DVD.

Hi Castout :D Nice thing your going to do for the next guy. That's the SubSim way. :yep:
Sorry to hear you didn't ever get the cd.
Lets think the best and it got lost in the mail or something in real life messed up the deal.
I glad your going to enjoy GWX 3.0 Gold. ;)

Hi there!
Sorry, I dont have an idea where to get this Mod (I've never understood how to do a solution on my own... I think numbers don't like me. ;))
But maybe your DVD writer will work better if you update your firmware. Just have a look at the manufacturers homepage and download the newest for your writer. My own writer was a little bit picky on the DVD's I used, but a firmware update solved this problem. :know:
Hope this works for you, too.

Here u go mate http://www.bts-mods.com/?page=sh3-interfacemods-page1
The mod is called GUI 1.2.7 (look for it in the middle of the page). And u are right - it doesn't incorporated in GWX 3.0. But I use it and it works perfect.
Good luck:arrgh!:

Thanks guys I'mhaving problem finishig GWX 3 download somehow the bts site is no longer responding. I can't even load the site.
But weird stuff is once I turn on anonymous browsing, the bts site is loadable perfectly fine. Hmmm something is blocking my access. I'm 800Mb+ into it. The Full GWX 3.0 exe. I can't download the GWX in anonymous browsing mode. In that mode the connection is pretty limited.

GWX uses the standard GUI, although touched up and with lots of pretty pullout gauges and maps.
You'll love GWX, big step up from stock Silent Hunter. And with IABL's merchant fleet arriving soon, there'll be even more to sink! :arrgh!:
Edit: Hmm, have you tried the .bin and .exe download? Smaller chunks so if you lose your connection or something freezes up you don't lose several gigabytes' worth of data.

The .bins are all uploaded to filefront and my connection to filefront is actually pretty bad somehow the downloading speed is near that of a dial-up.
I think I've been blocked. either by the bts site or someway along the way. The site no longer respond. I cant even load the site. Maybe I'll give it a few days and then see how. I've been waiting for years so a few days should not be a big deal. I had to sleep thus I turned off the PC last night damn it :damn:

Now go and sink something!!! :arrgh!:

Hmm weird. The site is like toggling on and off.
Some at some time the page is loadable and I can download just fine at maximum speed then after a few minutes the page is not loadable anymore and the download stops.
So it's like the blocking is toggling on and off all the time.
Oh bts...what's wrong with you?

Wait haven't finished yet now at 900Mb+ into it and now it seems whatever was blocking me is now toggling on and off all the time. What an annoyance :D.

But I can't promise anything...

No problem. I'll see tomorrow if it worked. ;)
Have to go to bed now, its 2 AM and I have to get up early and go to university... No ships there... But maybe I sink something in the bathroom, I will keep watching the toilet. :ping:
Good night.
PS: Got a problem: How can I get 280kg TNT in a steeltube in the bathroom of the university? :hmm:

Downloading from bts is such a pain in the ass.
Could somebody upload the full exe to any European country based server?
Right now the link that points to the full exe file is only 1 that is the bts site(US based server).
But my download keeps being blocked after a few minutes and when it's blocked I can't even open the bts page.
It was all fine yesterday. Downloading for hours without hassle. Starting from last night until now it has been such a pain in the ass.

Hmm, sorry. I have no webspace.
And I only know FileFront links were you can get the mods...
Did you try a Proxy? I have not the slightest idea what's happend to your connection.
Although your connettinon to FileFront is extreme slow, I post you the links, maybe you can solve your connection problem and download it with full speed.
OLC GUI 1.2.7: http://hosted.filefront.com/UberTorpedo
(hopefully UberTorpedo is OK with it, that I post his File Front folder, but he uses it in his signature, so I think it's no big deal)
There you can get the tutorial videos too. I've been searching them yesterday, because the link from the manual of the mod is dead.
GWX 3.0: www.thegreywolves.com (http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/www.thegreywolves.com)
There you can find the links to File Front, just click on "Download Links" on the bottom of the page.
Maybe a torrent download will work better for you, if you want to give it a try, here is the link to the torrent file, upped by jimbuna: http://files.filefront.com/GWX30+torrenttorrent/;12764641;/fileinfo.html
And if you have no torrent download tool, try this: http://www.utorrent.com/download.php
Its free and very simple. I had no idea how to use a torrent download before I used it, but it's easy. Just open the torrent file, wich you downloaded from FF and open it with µTorrent and there you go.
And if nothing of this will work, I can mail it to you on a DVD.
But be sure to make a copy before you send it to iraq. ;)

Hi Smutje. I've finished downloading the OLC GUI 1.2.7 mod and GWX 3.0
Now trying to download from filefront the combined exhaust and water stream mod.
And I just couldn't download it. Invalid session something. No matter how many times I tried.
I finally ask a friend to download it for me and send me the file through IM. And that friend of mine is using the same ISP as mine and live less than a mile from my home.
Damn it.

Hmmm, very strange...
But if it's working with your friend, there is at least a way for you to get it.
Enjoy your GWX, it's the best supermod, I've ever tried. :D

Yea it's strange. It couldn't be my firewall could it?
I've tried GWX 3.0 for a couple of hours. It's great. :D
My offer still stand for someone out there who wishes to play GWX but can't download it for himself because of slow connection.

You've ever tried to deactivate your firewall completly?
Maybe some ports have to be deblocked (hope this is the right word, I'm pretty unsure) or something, but I can't make a real diagnosis of your connection from here.
I think you should ask your friend if he changed something at his connection settings, have a look at his router settings and ports. Maybe you can solve your problem this way.
A little offtopic: Try Rockall Bank! I've just sunk a Illustrious and a Southhampton there! The destroyers hadn't got the slightest idea what happend to them. :rotfl:
