The Imperial Seal of Japan (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Japan) is a mon (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mon_(crest)) or crest used by members of the Japanese Imperial family. Under the Meiji Constitution (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Meiji_Constitution), no one was permitted to use the Imperial Seal except the Emperor of Japan (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Emperor_of_Japan), who used a 16 petal chrysanthemum with sixteen tips of another row of petals showing behind the first row. So each member of the Imperial family used a slightly modified version of the seal. Shinto (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shinto) shrines either displayed the imperial seal or incorporated elements of the seal into their own emblems.(http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Imperial_Seal_of_Japan)

made in Keltos

This 3D model of chrysanthemum is for the bow of the Mogami or any other IJN warship (Yamato...) but the model will then have to be adjusted. I made it according to the picture above.

@Miner1436 : I made it so you can quit looking on the web for one ;)

The photo is of battleship Mikasa, Admiral Togo's flagship at Battle of Tsushima Straits. She is a museum ship in Yokosuka.

Now we just have to find a good picture and texture it on the skin files.

Put the 3d object in a dat, and stick it on.

how about adding a details node like the deck of the Uboot IXD2 with the 3D model ? then link it to a small texture file ?

I tried it yesterday with the golden texture taken directly from the picture here above, but it didn't look too good.

might do an occlusion map for it also ?

You can put it in a dat, throw the textures in the textures folder, then pint that one object at the 1 texture. Add it to any ship by importing the dat you make.

Hi keltos01, do you still have the 3D model on your hard disc. Your D/L links are dead ... I would like to add it to the Yamato (http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/showpost.php?p=2461236&postcount=745). :)

Hey Keltos....glad to see you're back around these parts!! Thanks for looking in on the FOTRS Ultimate project and answering some of Propbeanie's questions.

I was wondering regarding 3D Max....I know they will give you a 30 day trial period with it. Then its going to expect you to shell out the $700.00+ for its purchase. Is there any other way of working with models that's as easy as 3D Max? I mean "easy" because 3D Max seems to do a much better job in importing/exporting .obj files than most other modeling applications. I've used Blender before, but there's still some things that don't seem to go as intended as working with 3D Max.
