View Full Version : GWX New Effects vs. Racerboy's SH4 effets for SH3

Hi there,

What do you think: which effects are better? Racerboy's imported effects or the new GWX 3.0 effects (optional mod)?

Currently I'm a little reluctant to install Racerboy's mod anyway since I'm not sure whether stock GWX 3.0 changes the particles.dat and materials.dat files (I guess they do) and I don't want to screw up anything.

BTW does GWX 3.0 include lifeboats?

GWX 3.0 does not include lifeboats and the enhanced damage mod of GWX has not been changed since GWX 2.1. So for eye candy Racerboy is still the best for visual damage.

Thanks to both of you. I just checked with asanovic's thread and I'm not quite clear. It sounds to me that mean his current GWX 2.1 improved version of RB's mod will work with GWX 3.0 as well, or does he have to change anything?

There's nothing for asanovic7 to do to make it work for GWX 3

Asanovic u did a great job , and it is a great news to hear it works on gwx 3.0. Theat mean u job is exelent and no need to change a thing. Keep up the great work and all the best in a new year:up:

It's fine as it is.

However I regularly get "burners". IE ships which are burning spontaneously. Although the there is no impact from the files which are replaced by RB's mod the water and other files have been changed. Does someone know what has been changed between 2.1 and 3.0 that could trigger SH3 damage model in combination with RB's mod that causes these burning ships? Then I can experiment with it.
