Sorry to ask the question but I have been unable to see an answer in any of the other threads and I thought it would also be useful for more people (hence opening a new thread):

Is there any standalone 2.1 to 3.0 patch?

I mean, for all of those who have the 2.1 version already, it would be nice to download a smaller file with the latest changes instead of the full 1.4 GB again :-?

Thanks

I don't believe the is.
The main reason behind 3.0 was to add all the hot fixes and the 2.1 upgrade in the main installation. To make it easier for people to install.
As before you have to install SH3 patch to 1.4 the install 2.0 then add 2.1 and the fixes in via JSGME in the right order.
Plenty of room for people to make a mistake.
Now it is just a a simple install SH3 patch to 1.4 then install 3.0 job done.
Much simpler and not so messy and even less chance of making a mistake.
Hope this help.

Mr. Chris is right. There is none and none are planned.

The biggest problem with doing a patch in JSGME format
is that you can't delete whole folders.
(hint, hint ;) )
So I'd spend as much time writeing single file deletes for JSGME as I would
doing a whole installer.

Part of the update involves the removel of unused things now in 2.1
And,
as I go through more files?
I can lop off even more of the loading time.

So if the load time from 2.1 to 3.0 saved you 2 minutes?
I estimate another 2 to 3 minutes could be cut out.

I gotta say I love 3.0 :yep:

It's tougher and has even more Kooler things in it.:D

It don't get any better than this..... YET !!! :D

I really can't see how it would be tougher.
:hmm:
Nothing was changed to make it harder that I'm aware of.

It's mainly a consolidation of things with a few twists thrown in.
Then gently blended with some optimizations.
Shaken, not stirred!
Mind you.

OK, thanks for your replies

Of course having the full package in one is the best, no question about it.

I'll bit the bullet and prepare the computer for a long download evening :88)

Excellent! If there's one single thing I'd critisize from GWX (And it's a SH3 problem, not a GWX one althout it gets worser with it) that's the long loading times. Good to know there are improvements in that area
