German.

They were really the only sound files to be modded to any extent. Not using them means you miss out on soooooo much.;)

The English version sounds a bit... off. Its English with no regional language, so unless you love Iowans, its irritating.

A while ago an exchange student from Germany came to stay with some friends of ours, and I have to admit I actually learned more German from SH3 then I did from her.

After awhile you will get it without looking at text if your new. :yep:

Things like messages will sound different with German voices enabled. Yould hear morse code before messages. Soooo kool.

I was using English voice, until reading this thread :D. And you're right, German voice is much more suitable and I didn't know what I were missing!

One question: can someone translate what the crew is saying when diving? The line is the same, whether you use English or German voice.

Its a clip from Das Boot. The in-game voices will say : Periscope Depth. The clip says something along the lines of : Dive! Dive! Bow down five, Stern up 10.
