I have searched the forums, and can't find a suitable answer, so I'm asking here.
It seems that it is a universal bug that late in the war, if you return to base with more than 80% damage to your boat, you can be given the option of retiring, or accepting a new boat.
I had 82% damage after a running gun battle with a German UBoat on my return trip back to Perth-Freemantle.
Upon reaching port, I was asked if I wanted to retire on a high note.
I said no.
I was offered command of another boat, I accepted.
Upon finding myself in Pearl Harbor, I was given command of the latest Tench class boat.
No problem.
Or so I thought.
When ready for sea, I put out.
Only to find out I have no conning tower!
No periscope, no radar, no sonor, no AA guns, etc.
Is this a bug?
I cannot restart at an earlier game as I deleted the previous save.
What to do, what to do?
If this cannot be fixed, I have no other option than to delete this career and start another.
Suggestions?
