I have installed GWX 3.0 and it is great as expected thanks guys, however I would ask again whether anyone has had problems with ctd and problems runnig WAC 3.0?
Hansolo has been very helpful to me, but despite several re installs, I still cant get this version of the game to run right, so wondered if anyone else can offer advice if they have heard of this problem and resolved it?
I have it installed on the same drive as GWX but have it installed separately to a different named folder with Multii SH3 to create the different game save folders.
My system is high end and I have windows Vista 32 bit.
The problem I have is that it installs, loads the first screens, including the movies to the career screen.
At this stage I can play any of the academy missions fine with smooth play and no problems.
The problem occurs when I load a career, go to the crew and sub screen, make some adustments to the crew numbers and equipment etc on the sub and start the career.
It loads to about 90% through and then I get a ctd.
At other times if I make no adjustments to the sub or crew, it will start with the sub in the pen, but I get a very loud hissing sound and strange colours to the graphics.
Finally, I got it into a mission and it played beautifully for a while until I tried to manually move an officer from rest to the bridge, at which point it sometimes crashes too.
Hope this gives enough info for someone to help me?
Many thanks in advance guys. :damn:

Don't make any adjustments on sub/crew before the first patrol. Do it after the end of the first patrol. That's the cause of your ctd.
The hissing is a stock issue, together with the ctd on moving officers manually.

As PT stated,
Those are Stock issues that not everyone suffers from.
I have had absolutely no problems that I did not cause
by modding things.
And I have tried to duplicate every known stock issue out there.
My system just does not care!!
I have saved in the middle of convoys, submerged, while being DCed,
and still no problem!
Never ever had the crash dive bug.
You name them?
Never had a problem.

With cases like this some system specs might prove helpful? (MoBo, CPU, GPU, RAM etc.). If the suggested items, above, do not help it is the only way to "possibly" narrow down the cause...but some times things is what they is. As an example, the latest nVidia drivers and antialiasing woes.
Vista comes in a 32 bit version? Why?

Thanks for your comments guys- I have all drivers updated and my system spec is 2.4 GZ p twin core processor, nvidea 7900 GS graphics and 3gb ram, audio codecs sound.
When I play any version of GWX I too can take drastic liberties ie saving submerged (even in a depth charge scenario), moving crew etc with no ctd ever, but war ace is causing me major problems for some reason.
it is mainly the ctd at start up that causes the problems, and I will try PT suggestion of no alterations before the first mission.
Those who run this ok- are you making any changes to crew and/or boat before the first mission?
