How to Change my Sub's Name

I saw it some place a while back and the search engine is driving me nuts trying to find it again.

How do I change the name of my sub?

USS Drum is kill'n me. :)

IRL I live very close to the USS SilverSides and I've got the rusty/worn mod that even makes it look like the real thing. I'd love to change it to SilverSides if possible.

Also.. do I have to start the entire campaign over again if I change the name? Hope not.

Sorry about that. I started digging just manually flipping through pages hoping for neat sounding little MODS that might have been forgotten when I came across the post that gives the answer to my question. I don't see how to delete my post so I'll post the link here just so that someone stumbling along with the same question might get the answer too.

You have to edit your save game files. AaD-Marine came up with the tutorial for changing the name. Follow the link, scroll down to his post, and follow the instructions. I have used them so I know it works.

I'm over here because there is no work in Michigan.

I plan on doing a little over 1 more year here and then when I return I plan on leaving Michigan as soon as possible. I won't get into slamming the State I was born and raised 39 years in but there has to be more worth in a state than "My Relatives live there" and "They have pretty summers". I abhor the dominate politics, I am shamed to say I am from the State and over the last several years the only place worse to live is Porto Rico if you watch the statistics.
