Advice needed

Ok I am running TMO 1.55 for SH4 1.5. and in this every and i mean every Mk 14 topredo i fire has been duds.So, how do i lower the dud count on the torpedo?

What is the timeframe you are talking (late 1942, what?). From what I understand a lot of duds at times did result (I forget the sub that hit a merchant with 1 torpedo and disabled it, then fired something like 19 more at a stationary target, all were duds). There are things that can be done to minimize the dud rate, and these are to my understanding:

Use only contact fuse
Set to shallowest depth
Use the Low speed setting
Try to make sure the torpedo impact is not 90-degrees perpendicular to the target, nor "oblique" to the target (I try for 10 to 30 degrees off perpendicular).Last resort might be to turn off duds, but I'm guessing you--like me--won't do that. As frustrating as a string of duds is (or worse, a dud on a shot you are counting on, like the shot to hit that DD bearing down on you), imagine what it was like in real life. Good luck!
