I've just successfully installed FWX 2.1 and have two questions:

1. Is it possible to display the old orange submerged marker from the SHIII days in GWX 2.1?

2. When using the indentify book from the periscope screen, I am not seeing any non-military ships - both naval and non-naval flags seem to show only naval ships. Am I doing something wrong or is it a GWX 2.1 bug?

Thanks for a great Mod!!

WELCOME ABOARD!:sunny:

U-Mark, as it's called, can be easily restored, but I'm not at my own computer right now and don't want to give you the wrong facts. Someone will be along soon with the correct answers.

The ID book has chapters. Click on the left-right arrows to access different nations' merchants. Also, If you are using Weapons Officer Assistance, or auto-targetting, once he has identified it for you simply click on 'Ship' on the notepad, and it will come up by itself.

Thanks!

Knowing the right name, I found the U-mark TGA file and fixed that one.

And I never knew the "click on SHIP" to get the info page to come up trick. (Though I don't understand why they are under "Handelsschiffe" instead of the flag of the country. But at least I can now get the correct draft!)

Thanks

If you still want the U-Boat Marker you can get it from here http://files.filefront.com/UMarktga/;6543635;/fileinfo.html (courtesy of the Chief of the Boat) ;)

Though I don't understand why they are under "Handelsschiffe" instead of the flag of the country.

This is done because most countries have the same type of merchant ships. As in reality when the captain of a U-Boat was comming accross a merchant vessel he was looking at the generic Jane's Handbook he had instead of the lists of all active ships in each country. That means that you're able to attack a target without positive identification of its nationality (again as it was in reality). Imagine how difficult it would have been if you need to identify the target and look through a massive book for each country and each ship. By the time you would have the data the target would have reached its destination.
