Kaleuns,

is there a "trick" to get a conning tower emblem during a single mission?
As far as I know, it´s only possible to have one during a patrol, but maybe there´s a way to have it during a single mission, too.
I´ve created the U-505 shell emblem and want to have it on the side of my IX C40 tower while sinking the Guadalcanal!

Cheers, Kurfürst

I assume by "single-mission", you mean one which is not part of a campaign - that is, a custom built mission provided with the game or one you have created yourself.

And by "patrol", you mean one that is part of the campaign itself.

What you need to do is install the emblem with the other SubEmblems. It needs to be a TGA file located in the data\Emblems\SubEmblems folder. I usually make mine 128x128 pixels, but I think 64x64 and 256x256 also work.

You then need to get that emblem onto your boat. This can be done by playing a real campaign for a few missions, and then getting the option (or alternatively, you can add the link in to your career folder by hand... which saves you having to actually play those missions).

Once done, this will give you the emblem, and it will appear on your U-boat in the campaign, single-player and multi-player missions.

Note however, that unless other players have that same emblem installed, only you will see it in any multi-player missions that you might play. (Other player's will not see it).

After a lot of search on the forum, trial and errors...I must admit that to have a desired emblem on single mission is not easy...

The exposed above only works if you not exit the game (runs/start a campaign patrol, choose your emblem and then without exit the game start the SMission)...

Dietrich or someone more have some idea/clues about this issue?:hmm:

Yes! You CAN do it!

Just start a new career, select the type of uboat and emblem you intend on using in single mission, star a patrol, but DON"T save! Exit the career, and without deleting the career, start the single mission. You should have your career emblem in your boat.

Yes, this is what I´m doing...I just thought that could have a more elegant/direct way.:hmm:

Thanks anyway!

Why not just take a u-boat skin of your choice and "paste" the emblem you want onto the conning tower part, then save it and add the skin via JSGME when you want to play a career or single mission without having to earn the renown to allow using a standard emblem?

Sounds more complicated than it really is. Would probably take you all of 5 minutes with Photoshop (or whatever) to do this. ;)

It´s not so simple, the texture is mipmapped, i.e., it´s used in more than a place. So, you end with the emblems, sometimes just parts, here and there too.:damn:

I tried a lot of ways to solve the problem, but only the above posts exposed works correctly in the end.:hmm:
