Upgrade Sub in SH3 [Archive] - SUBSIM Radio Room Forums

Hi buddies,

I do a rookie in SH3 game! My recent sub is VIIB, Does anybody help to tell me do I need to upgrade my sub to VIIC, then upgrade to X type sub (the year is Jan 1941) ? I'm proceeding patrol 12. Before I've been upgrade to VIIC, but the AA gun is always destroyed when start sailing at the dock, don't know why, may be buds!

You can upgrade your sub when a) you have enough renown (earned by destroying enemy ships and aircraft etc) and b) when they become available at the historical point in time.

There are many bugs in the stock/vanilla game.

Ensure you are patched to v1.4b or better still, try one of the super mods such as GWX http://www.psionguild.org/forums/images/smilies/wolfsmilies/pirate.gif

GWX makes the vanilla game 1,000,000 times better!

Yes, you do. The stock saved games are not compatible with GWX.

You would need to install GWX over a fresh/clean install of SH3 patched to 1.4b.
