I got a note today:

I downloaded GWX2.1and tried to play a campaign, I found that after two patrols I could not find any enemy ships. There was no surface contacts in the campaign. I went to a single mission with the same results.

I downloaded on a clean SilentHunter III download via Ubisoft. When I played the game that I downloaded from Ubisoft, I had no problems at all. There were enemy ships and all surface contacts.

Suggestions?

thanks!
Neal

What campaign mods are loaded via JSGM? Disable all except for merged and try that. Takes longer to load but might work.

Could it be that the 2.1 download itself was corrupted? Did the sender say where he/she got the file from?

Maybe they haven't spotted any ships because they're too impatient?

GWX ain't exactly an arcade shooter and going days (game time) without a single contact is a fairly frequent occurence.

If that's not the case, then it's either a corrupted install or a mod hosed the campaign files.

The campaign files are not installed or are disabled. We need more info to sort out the reason.

Yes I also had this problem when I first loaded GWX ..I had to un-install both SH3 and GWX then reinstall them this fixed it so I guessed it was something to do with the campaign I was playing before installing GWX I guess that was needed to clear any files stored from previous games but back then all instructions were written in Chinese to me.

If the Indian Ocean or Black Sea Campaign files were loaded from the Mods folder,
No traffic would be in the Atlantic.

That should do the trick.

GWX comes with optional campaign file sets for different theaters to reduce load times if the user wishes. Generally speaking, using them will remove traffic from opposing operational theaters. (Thereby reducing load times for the theater that the player is meant to be in at the time.)

For anyone confused, or for those that don't mind the loading time wait... enabling the "GWX - Merged Campaign" included optional mod... will load ALL operational theaters without the need for any specific variation of the campaign files.:D

Good deal, thanks for the quick response, I'll see if he has any other mods or campaigns and go from there.

Did they remember to delete SH3 from " my documents " before installing GWX ?
