Thanks mates, got to say I'm still arguing with my bragging-self whether to install it or not, the closest I got to 100k was a 96k tonnes patrol, I'm not sure I'm ready to give up yet
That won't hinder me...my boat carries 48 eels http://www.psionguild.org/forums/images/smilies/wolfsmilies/eviljester2.gif

Thanks for this, Mikhayl. :)
I'm of the same feeling as you. I just want to have my first 100k patrol before I add this mod!
@jimbuna:
48 torpedoes?
What did you do, strap another u-boat to your hull? :p
I'm too used to my cherished VII-B, I suppose.

It used to be 50 but there wasn't enough room for a full crew then

Makes a convoy attack a lot harder
Map was covered in plots and still missed the escort that came steaming in
Certainly makes a difference
Will take a while to get used to but a lot more difficult
Mind you thats the first time have attacked anything in months

I can just imagine the conversation on that day...
"Yay! We got rid of two torpedoes! Now Hans and Fritz don't have to sleep standing up in the head anymore!"
Still..46 torpedoes..you must have a crew of what, six?
Sure will make spotting and tracking convoys even more difficult with this mod when you have only one guy standing watch with 4 torpedoes stuffed onto the bridge. :p
It makes things indeed more "accurate" inaccurate.
I'm so keeping this!
Oh and by the way, a boot with 48 Torpedos loaded is worth sinking...imagine the tonnage!;)
Nice mod! Thanks for this one. Now if we can just get smaller ship tonnages, Squids and Fido we'll be in business. (Ducking as Hanomag throws his cap at me).

Sounds great, but what exactly are the differences between this mod and disabling map contact updates in the game proper?
EDIT: Got it (I think). So you disable map contact updates in the game, and with this mod remove your own sub and radio contacts from the map too, correct?

I found myself becoming a little disorientated when trying to judge my position and proximity relative to that of the convoy (even harder comparing with the movement of the escorts).
I think all in all once you become accustomed to the new environment, the challenge will be a more realistic one.

Excuse me Mikhayl but did not OLC have something like this feature in the latest Ubermod/GUI?:hmm:
With OLC you always have map contacts gone and very little possibility to zoom.
Contacts come in form of messages and very scetchy markings on the map. (that was the point;) ).
Even the sonar lines are deliberately inaccurate, meerely "hints".
Maybe just a matter of taste:cool: .

IIRC map contact updates on/off shows/hides the icons for ships in visual range only.
Yup, got it. S! m8.
