Still kinda baffled as to why only the Sally is present in the campaign and not the Betty, they played a rather large part in the Battle of Singapore
I can change one of the Sally squadrons into betty's if you like

If I've grown to know Hunter one bit, he's going to hop to TS at 21:45GMT, curse everyone from not showing up, come to this thread and say "Yes, we are flying Monday, Wednesday and prolly Friday, last night was just to kick the campaign rolling!". Then, he's gonna PM me "Yo, dude! How about some CC5?" and I'm like "naah, gonna go watch telly soon" (while in reality, I am trying to find good pron to wank to).

Righto, here's the vid from last night's Singaboring sortie #2. My only encounter with an human enemy all night (Well, kinda the only encounter with anything the whole night); Kratos and his nimble Buffalo. All I have to say about the fight is that I now have new #1 target to hunt: Kratos. :D

For those absentee's the running commentary as i attempted to get the weasel to follow me under that damn bridge was a bit blue to say the least. :lol: might have been a different outcome had i made it ;) (i am allowed to think positive) :rotfl::rotfl:

Haha, dont try to make the Ki-43 to pass you, never. The thing takes off at rougly 130-140km/h and when we flew towards the sky and ended up stalling, the point where I lost the "air under my wings", my speed was something around 80-90km/h. :p
No, didnt use the camera mod, just plain old IL2.

Actually, if you would've survived the crash somehow, I think that would've been a kill for you IRL or atleast for the squadron. Or ½ kill, anywho you should've gotten a credit for it. :D

Which version? If you have the version I posted then it is a problem. If it's posted by someone else then it is in a form the game does not see at all, and is not a problem.
Oh and Dowly, good vid with a proper ending for this bunch :lol:

Version? :hmm: are there more than 1 ? it's just a small addon for patch 4.09 to make the AI better like it was with patch 3.04,

I dont think it would have worked, the ai would want to act different in your game than in us.:hmm:(Or it might have, who knows.)
Yeh, it wont work as it changes gameplay aspects. It would make the server out of sync so to speak, either not letting mengle join or crashing the whole server. Or it even might let mengle play, but things would happen differently for him, i.e. we see an AI on mengle's 6O'clock, but at mengle's end, there's no AI chasing him.

Mengle,I know the AI mod you're talking about.It is completely bogus. It does not work at all, because the game does not see the files in the form they are in that mod.
well this is what im going to do , backup the old AAA files map and use the new one when i'm playing online, otherwise there going to be problems because i have about 25+ addons:doh:

Todays Singaporage:
First mission had Hunter, Kratos and Oberon in Buffalos with Task Force and Schroeder forced to take Jap telescopic sniper planes.
Kratos nearly gave Oberon a heart attack by suddenly appearing off his starboard bow with a cheery " Ullo Oberon!"

Soon, Oberon called out two contacts at four o clock, to which the Jap-Schroeder asks "What altitude?" But Kratos wasn't falling for that one.
"Aaah shut uuup!"
Battle was joined with a telescopic Jap fighter diving on Oberon and giving him a good riddle of air rifle pellets, one of which got lodged in the flaps, thus jamming them.
Task Force, whilst being persued by Hunter, decided to investigate that smell of kerosene in the darker resesses of the cockpit with his lighter:

Kratos took his plane a little too low and suffered an engine problem, thus hari-karing himself into the ground. Oberon found himself at low altitude after dodging a couple of Jap planes and with little else going on around him he decided that the time was right to RTB.
Hunter and Schroeder continued to throw air rifle pellets at each other, but eventually Hunter succumbed to boredom first and fell out of the sky.
Meanwhile, Oberon returned to base and 109'd on the runway.
The next mission
Much the same as the first but this time with enough Buffalos for everyone. Theory is that RAF command is trying to get rid of the Buffalos quickly to make way for Hurricanes....
We hope!
Hunters undercarriage decided that it could no longer be attached to the Buffalo and fell apart on take-off, leaving a bemused, Kratos, Oberon, Task Force, Schroeder and Fincuan to take off over his wreckage.

Oberon tailed Kratos all the way to the target zone whilst Hunter moved to Air Traffic Control, trading the usual pleasantries with Schroeder, responding after Schroeder made the grevious error of saying 'Ah, French and English both the same' with the comeback 'Ah, Germans and Austrians, both the same' which stumped the Jarmin :smug:

Eventually Oberon and Fin spotted the targets, once again at the three - four o clock position, and the intercept was made, and all of the squadron ran into immediate problems. Virtually everyone got a Jap on their tail, with Schroeder effected particularly badly with two rather persistant AI. Oberon got one but shook it, then he picked up another and shook that with a stall which brought him down a few thousand feet where he spotted Schroeder in some distress. He dived immediately to help, taking the Buffalo to over 500kph (It really can do it folks...just not for very long!!) and watched as Schroeder tried the Kratos maneuver to shake the Japs but, as expected, the AI just went over the bridge and then lost contact.

Oberon came in on Schroeders tail and confirmed it was clear, but then found out where the two Japs on Schroeders tail had gone...on his!
So, he tried a botched attempt at a Cobra, putting his Buffalo into a vertical climb and then cutting the throttle and pushing the nose forward. Surprisingly effective as the first Jap plane overshot and the other broke left. However it wasn't long before both Schroeder and Oberon had one back on their tails. Task Force also had one on his tail, and quite nearly IN it, as they passed Oberon and Oberon tried to turn to help Task Force, the Jap plane was virtually brushing Task Force's tail with its prop!

Oberon stalled himself again, got shot up a bit more, and then prepared to turn tail and run for home, but before he could, he stalled at too low an altitude. Yeah, you can see where this one is going...

Kratos, by this time had been downed, and Fin had gone too. Schroeder lasted a bit longer, with Japs all over him but then with a cry of "Gaaaagh!" he was downed too.
Which left Task Force, who was harrassed (as far as I can tell) most of the way back to base where he landed and then possibly ran into Hunters wreckage because his flaps were jammed and thus he came in far too fast.
All in all, I do believe it could be declared that the RAF got F'd in the A Royally....

Remember not to overfly at 5 meters the Jap plane you've just shot down, they tend to blow up upon hitting the ground :damn:

I was almost idling with my radiators open. and the pice of s*** was still overheating.:lol: I was the only one to RTB alive though.:yep:
(I think.) Cooled down once I landed (one wheel hits the ground, and it cools.) For acouple of seconds it started to die out, then it came back until I landed.
I was harassed by the japs (3 of them.) most of the trip to base. As Oberon said, they were almost hitting me. and I don't know how many bullets hit me.

Nope, I believe that is the Dutch skin. Default Brit is the usual Green/Dark Green setup.

That's what I've now dubbed the '109 landing' :up: So far, every time I've landed a Buffy that's what I've done. :lol:

The Baffu isn't worth the wear on the airstrip, better to just ditch it over the sea
I dunno, she's a nice steady crate, quite sturdy, not prone to spontaneous combustion unlike her Jap counterparts, has a proper gunsight unlike the telescopic Jap sniper thing. You can stall her and recover quite well providing you have the height, that's how I lost two Jap planes by stalling at the top of a climb and then going horizontal, the Jap planes try to slow down but overshoot when you go horizontal.
It just sadly has a couple of air rifles in the wings and is as fast as a dead snail.

That wouldn't work very well against a human pilot. It's a good trick against the AI and works with almost any aircraft against any other aircraft, but try it against a half-decent human pilot and all you get is your arse full of lead :lol:
Same with horizontal scissors or just plain turning tight. Works every time against the AI.
Were those btw Ki-27s we fought?

Anybody playing the game with windows VISTA home premium 64 bit ?? installed the game and that's it

Hunter or Kratos will give it ya over Teamspeak when you're setting up for flight. They might even give it in English :lol:
*I'd written a nice long article here and then missed the tab bar and hit Google News instead, thus losing the whole lot :damn: So instead, a quick summary with pictures.*
Mission One:
Fin, Kratos, Xabba in Buffalos
Hunter, Oberon in Blenheims
Task Force, Dowly in random Japanese sniper planes.
Xabba was hit by Dowly (I believe), whilst Kratos was blue on blued by Fin, Task Force was disintergrated by AAA while Fin suffered a connection fault.
Hunter and Oberon completed their bombing runs, hitting pretty much nothing except the odd field mouse and ant hills and RTB'd, Oberon took a few hits in the port engine and had to shut it down. Dowly was then headbutted with an AA shell and exploded.
Hunter RTB'd while Oberon limped back with one engine. The RAF AI then decided to pick on Oberon and ganged up on him, with three Blennies following him ('Me love you long tiiime!'), a harsh word from Hunter soon sent them scurrying back to the bomber base, while Oberon, for the sake of game speed, made a Carrier style approach and landing at the fighter airbase.
Mission Two:
Oh boy
Hunter, Kratos and Oberon took the Buffalos and a death wish
Everyone else took Jap planes (only three Buffies vs the entire IJAF) with Dowly and Task Force getting their precious Zeros back.
Hunter, Kratos and Oberon retired to their own Teamspeak Channel, but Xabba thoughtfully gave hints over the text channel which indicated whether the squadron had been spotted yet. ;)
Hunter went first and high, Kratos went low and Oberon went last and kinda somewhere in the middle. The AAA from the airbase which seemed to be partly in Japanese hands and partly in Brit hands, started up, so Hunter steered for it and got insta-ferreted. Kratos soon fell the same way, and Oberon, after having the ferret in his sights for a couple of seconds, then lost him and his life in approximately ten seconds.
There was a mission three, but Oberon left at that point to write this :) and then go to bed, but not after writing to the MOD asking for an undercover mission to the IJAF with an Me262 to cause untold havoc and chaos on a scale which would dwarf both Hiroshima and Nagasaki.

As for the 3rd sortie, Hunter changed campaign to Leningrad. I flew as #1 of the 1st 109F2 squadron, engaged a bunch of I16's, bagged one. Then got invited by Hunter, TF & Fincuan to hunt them (they were in some floatplane), got bounced by an VVS fighter, bailed and was shot down by the mighty three. So, dont bail out near me if you are red, I shoot you. I kid you not. :yep:
