I downloaded SCHQ_TACMAN_PDF (http://www.subsim.com/subsim_files/missions05/SCHQ_TACMAN_PDF.zip) from "subsim download (http://www.subsim.com/subsim_files/patches2005.html#subcomm)".

In this PDF page 7 and line 5 , there is a word "SSAZ'.

I stuck here because I didn't know what it meant.

I had googled it ,but there was no answer.

Is that some kind of acronym?

If yes , what is SSAZ's full name?

I had a snapshot in my signature.

Thanks a lot.

It means Signal Strength vs AZimuth, which is what the broadband display shows. The other option would be FRAZ, which is FRequency vs AZimuth, (the narrowband display).

The unti is very sensative and is as good as the american sonars in real life however one massive draw back well two acctually, one the operator need a good memory and also eyesight and two the thing doesnt provide history so its a case of now you see it now you dont and guessing.

Simple bit of kit it does as of 2004 and the launch of the newer submarines they have bought about waterfall displays and maybe they are going to refit the older boats also.
