November 11th

New version is out.

- Now 100% compatible with interior diving angles mod and open hatch mod
- New version also fixes the rudder needle to go up to 40 degrees

This is a very simple mod really.

Fixes the depth gauges. They are measuring the depth wrongfully. If you set your depth to 260 meters, you'll see that the needle is actually marking 257.

Plus, this mod allows the needle to go past 260, so you can have those "Das Boot" moments, while being depth charged. There are numerous stories about uboats that have gone around 280 and survived to tell, plus its great to use this together with SH3 Commander's option to randomize depth. I recommend you set the cfg file to:

Upper=1.2
Lower=0.9

That way, the uboat's hull should collapse somewhere between 234 and 312 meters, and the needle can to up to 315, which is pretty much near the zero marker, that was in real-life where the needle stopped rotating.

This mod corrects the gauges for the sonar room, the conning tower and the two gauges in the command room, the main big one and the small one near the map, aside the clock.

I'm uploading it now, as soon as I remember my password at FileFront. The mod is small, 21 kb.

Your timing couldn't be more perfect, PT!

One question...

Does this mod also have the 300 and 400 meter depth gauges for the VIIC and XXI?

Thank you for all your hard work, Phillip. :)

Nope, this mod only fixes the 260 meter gauge. The intention is to provide a depth gauge that can go as deep as the uboat go. VII and IX classes can go past 260 meters, and the gauge didn't. Now it goes. The XXI uses a 400 meter gauge, and the uboat can go up to 370, more or less, so it's ok. There's no need to mod the 400 meter gauge, unless it is incorrect, like the other ones were. I never played with XXI before and I don't think many people do.

The type VIIC has a 300 meter gauge??? Are you sure??? Where's the screenshot to prove it?

Very good, as always!

Just one question: is it compatible with the interior diving angles mod? JSGME reports conflict between two mods...

I do not know this mod you mentioned. What does it do?

I got the same conflict message so I didn't enable your mod. It's this one: http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/showthread.php?t=136442 made by Vickers03 that Klaus is talking about. There are 2 versions (stock & GWX). I'm using the GWX one btw.

Yes. No many - only a few skipers:rotfl:
370 meters max. That's my boat! The same max value for the XXI depth i set in my game. But with Your setup for the depth randomize everything sound's better.
I test it when i finish water for XXI.:yep:

Appears to me that the SIM files only have dials controllers, so it would have nothing to do with the fixed diving angles from the other mod. I'm not sure why the sim files are included.

Did any of you tried enabling my mod over his to see what happen? Do you lose the fixed diving angles?

Well this is something really inspired! These moments I blame the short time I have to play SH to pay much attention on these very nice details!

I'm used to dive as deep as I can, and to stay on the command room view, while diving deep, so that dial kinda bugged me a lot.

I had it fixed for years, and then realized somebody would like this aswell...

well, I did test the depth gauge mod with the diving angles mod and lost the angles altogether. Boat went down completely level in a crash dive, where there should be a steep angle.

:shifty:

I don't use that mod, so I didn't even thought about compatibility to it.

I'll make a new version compatible with that mod.

New version is out.

Now compatible with the interior diving angles mod.

The new version also fixes the rudder needle to point up to 40 degrees.

I've noticed that in the new version of the mod, the hydrophones and radar stations roll with the boat :D.
Is that how it's supposed to be, or is it a side effect? It's difficult to use the hydrophones because the dial continuously moves... :hmm:

Bugger... :shifty:

Thomsen's launch version 1.0 = bunch of guys complain about the incompatibility with the interior diving angles mod.
Thomsen's launch version 2.0, compatible with the mod those guys were complaining about. Now guys complain about the new compatibility.

That's modder's life.

For those who use the Interior diving angles mod, use the 2.0 version.
For those who dont use the mod above, just use the 1.0 version.

Yeah, yeah, I know. The 1.0 was deleted from my FF page.

Can any good soul upload it again, as I don't have it anymore?

Or maybe I do... at home... :hmm:

I'll have to check. If I have, I'll re-upload it.

You can't satisfy them all :D. I'll happily continue to use version 1. If you don't have it any more, let me know, I'll upload it for you.

Keep up the good work, it is appreciated.
