...add controllable versions of already existing human-playable submarines? :hmm:

I'm thinking about the non-improved Akula and the first Los Angeles Series, plus the pump-jet conversion of the Project 877 Kilo "Alrosa", currently in the Black Sea Fleet.

The first ones would be nice for some Cold War scenarios, and the latter for some Black Sea action. Anyone can tell if SCS would mind about adding them to the game as player controllable units? After all, they are simply versions of already existing controllable subs....

Imo they count as altogether another platform.

I would guess that thats Ok ... After all its just a slight modification of some parameters in the DB but no change in interfaces or any work on the files that are off-limits.

I would love to have those units as playables check out www.alrosa.net (http://www.alrosa.net) sweet kilo.

Yeah, mainly make the Akula a bit more noisy, eliminate the VLS in the Los Angeles adn make it a bit noisier and tweak the maneuverability and loudness of the Kilo (Pump Jet is quieter than a normal screw, but not as efficient to control the ship at slow speeds).

Thanks for your opinions, now I feel more confident about giving it a try
