Could someone transform the existing US subs into AI US subs that we could encounter in the coming japanese campaign ? I think it would add a layer of realism if we had those.Keltos

It's very simply to make ...
You are able to do it ... In SH3 it has been made tons of works on this theme ...
The basic work (key action) - it's necessary to replace the main controller cmdr_AIHumanSub --> on --> cmdr_AIShip (as in ships) in sub***.sim ...

...
And look Japan AI sub: http://hem.bredband.net/serbut1/

I think there should be both US and Japan AI boats. Just like German submarines in SH3. Otherways, there will be no friendly sub to meet at sea.

I will do them then, but I like the human playable better :-?

I don't think they saw many other subs at sea in the Pacific, maybe we could put some around harbors and naval bases though. At least at the docks. But for a player to actually run into one at sea would be rare, since the player will be going after Allied ships and to see another sub it would have to be on the surface and would most likely get sunk before you ever saw it. The Germans formed wolf packs, I don't think the Japanese did, but Keltos would know more than I do about that.

Since you don't like to do them:

I guess if they are released as well as a stand alone mod they could be added to any game, axis or US side.

It can be done, but I did not clone the sub, I just changed one file in the tambor. I only used an 'in game' boat so everyone would have it, I did not create a new sub that needs to be downloaded.
When we get the Campaign ready then we will have some time and could clone them for a stand-alone version, but right now it is not.
The way I have it you could not use it in an American Career because it would create a problem if you were assigned the Tambor as your sub, because it is not a sub anymore.
