Is there any way to modify your watch crew so they react to spotlights or gunfire??

I ask because in my last patrol i had a destroyer at <1000m shining its spotlight on me and pounding my conning tower with gunfire and yet because it was night, very foggy and raining my watch crew couldnt see the destroyer so the time compression remained at 128x untill i started to get damage reports at which point it dropped to 1x and i went to the bridge to see what was happening.

It just seemed a little dumb that when i went to the bridge to see what the heck was going on there were shells and tracers flying everywhere and a blinding spotlight and yet the watch crew were stood there as if nothing was happening and insisting that there were no visual contacts!

In the end i managed to crash dive, only narrowly missing a collision, and after several hours of DCs i escaped with no casualties.
Needless to say when i return to port my watch crew will be promptly shot for gross incompetance.

Im using gwx2.1+sh3 commander.

When your watch crew can se the enemy they should automatically crouch/cower behind the conning tower sideplates.

I think what you've spotted here is the fact your crew have not yet spotted the destroyer because of the weather but he has definitely spotted you.

Sounds like another example of the AI constraints contained within in an old game engine. :hmm:
